Micron and Ford sign long-term memory and storage agreement for next-generation vehicles
Micron has signed a long-term strategic customer agreement for memory and storage solutions to be used in Ford's next-generation vehicles.
US-based semiconductor manufacturer Micron Technology and Ford Motor Company have signed a long-term strategic customer agreement to strengthen the supply of memory and storage solutions for use in Ford's next-generation vehicles.
In a statement from Micron, it was noted that the company is increasing its production capacity for critical memory solutions used in the automotive sector. The statement indicated that this step is part of a supply capacity expansion strategy aimed at meeting the rapidly rising global demand for memory and storage.
The company reported that these investments support the automotive ecosystem and contribute to strengthening critical US infrastructure. It was noted that the agreement with Ford is supported by Micron's investments in increasing and localizing production for automotive customers.
In this context, increasing advanced DRAM production capacity at the facility in Manassas, Virginia, is also among the plans. Micron announced that the Ford agreement is one of 16 strategic agreements announced during the third-quarter fiscal results meeting for the 2026 fiscal year.
