It has been claimed that Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has made a new real estate investment in Turkey. Journalist Fatih Altaylı wrote that Abramovich purchased a plot of approximately 100,000 square meters located right next to the Kaplankaya Project in the Milas district of Muğla.
According to Altaylı, the land in question features two private beaches. Previously, reports had surfaced that Abramovich was looking for land in Bodrum for a hotel investment. Altaylı stated that after seeing the Kaplankaya region, the Russian billionaire shifted his focus toward a lower-density residential plan instead of a hotel.
Allegedly, only three houses will be built on the land. Altaylı noted that this development, planned with one house for approximately every 30 decares, is significant in terms of minimizing environmental damage and limiting debates over construction in the region.
Bodrum and its surroundings have become a focal point for foreign investors and luxury residential projects catering to high-income groups in recent years. Altaylı noted that brands such as Mandarin Oriental, Bulgari, Aman, Four Seasons, and Cheval Blanc have increased interest in the region, and that Kaplankaya has emerged as one of the centers preferred by the world's wealthy individuals.
Altaylı argued that such investments could pave the way for the emergence of very high-value residences in the region, similar to examples in the South of France, Sardinia, and Marbella.
