The CHP is meticulously destroying itself!

The headline is not irony.

Let us not leave room for misunderstandings.

The sentence means exactly what it says!

When it comes to trapping the Atatürkist voter who is loyal to the Republic, its values, and its founding principles to the end, they talk a big game, spouting speeches like, “We are the founding party of Turkey, we will not abandon secularism; the political unity, indivisible integrity, and unitary structure of the country are our red lines”...

These sentences have lost all their value. No one should take offense; we are fed up with empty rhetoric.

As the saying goes; a person's mirror is their work...

CHP members have duly signed a report prepared under the roof of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) that serves as the first official document of a process that will put dynamite at the foundations of Turkey.

In other words, they gave their approval and said, “We agree with everything written here.”

If the people of our country had not shown such a great reaction, they would have run to Imralı to meet with Abdullah Öcalan, let no one have any doubt. It seems that when their enthusiasm was cut short, they tried to compensate for their embarrassment toward the Kurdish nationalists with the signatures they provided.

Now, let us look at the report with our reading glasses on; the approach hidden between the lines is that the process being pushed onto our people under the title of a “Turkey without terrorism” should be handled together with democratization and local government reforms. When this formulation, which sounds reasonable and logical on paper, is translated into political practice, if it contains ambiguities that could open the ground of the unitary state to debate, it will become a multiplier of legitimacy bearing the signature of the founding party.

Let us underline the sentence several times with a thick pen.

Their signatures here have a very significant meaning. Because the CHP is the political heir, carrier, and, more importantly, the current representative of the will that founded the state in 1923.

When the party that founded Turkey, declared the Republic, and carried out the revolutions says “yes” to a text that opens the foundations of the state to debate, this ceases to be merely a tactical political calculation of today and brings with it a historical questioning.

This is exactly what the political Islamists, the Kurdish nationalists, and the imperialists who have not been able to stomach the Republic of Turkey since the day it was founded want!

Therefore, the report should not be treated merely as a technical issue; this is a critical threshold where the founding ideology, the principles of the Republic, and the political unity, unitary structure, and finally the “Turkish citizenship” of the Republic of Turkey are being tested.

Let us remind you once again, the historical backbone of the CHP is built on the idea of the nation-state and the unitary structure.

This is not a product of an ethnic classification, as the Kurdish nationalists constantly repeat, but of a republican understanding based on political citizenship.

The concept of the “Turkish nation” is not an ethno-cultural narrowing; it is the name of a common destiny and legal unity. If a report opens doors that will erode the powers of the central administration under the title of local government reform and reinforce regional politics with ethnic references, this will not be just a technical administrative regulation, but a rupture in the philosophy of the state.

When we look at the issue from this perspective, we should not accuse those who say “they want to destroy the country through the hands of the founding party” of producing conspiracy theories.

To make a long story short,

The CHP has been buried under this report, which will form the basic reference document for the days of the Republic's destruction. Tomorrow, if Tayyip Erdoğan washes his hands of it and steps aside, the entire bill will fall on the CHP.

It is worth repeating: the cost of Özgür Özel following the Kurdish nationalists with a policy that no longer serves any clear purpose will be heavy, one way or another. Someone has most likely explained to him the consequences of the mistake made by the SHP in the 1991 elections.

But as far as we can understand, he has not given up on his stubbornness.

Could he really be thinking that the Kurds will leave the DEM and the AKP and vote for the CHP?

We do not know, but it appears that he is trying to force the loyal voters of the CHP to accept his situation by saying, “If you want to get rid of Tayyip Erdoğan, you will have to stomach my flirting with the Kurdish nationalists.”

In other words, the people of our country will be caught in the middle, say “Damn it,” and settle for it!

Is that possible!

There is a secular nationalism in Turkey, especially among the young population, that is truly rising and is not racist.

They care about political belonging, not ethnicism; let us say they are rediscovering Atatürk nationalism.

If Özgür Özel had seen this and placed his surfboard on the rising wave, he would truly be shaking the government today with the power he had behind him. But he chose to side with the ethnicist, sectarian faction within the party.

In his calculations, he is not trying to push the DEM completely into Tayyip Erdoğan's lap, but is singing tunes to the Kurdish nationalists by biting his lip!

If he really thinks this way, then all is lost.

The DEM supporters are already in Tayyip Erdoğan's lap from the very beginning. One would have to be completely blind not to see this.

Just because Özgür Özel's heart desires it, will they get up from there and follow the CHP, saying, “Hey, this man never even mentions the word 'Turk,' but he says 'Kurd' in one out of every three sentences”?

He may not be aware of it, but politics is not conducted through emotional affinities, but through balances of interest. The interests of the Kurdish nationalists have never been in Republicanism for them to stay close to the CHP. Even the most contemporary, most modernist-looking among them turns the rudder toward the Islamists the moment they find the opportunity.

Let us ask with an open heart: in a reality where the political fate of the DEM is between the two lips of Tayyip Erdoğan, will the signature the CHP put on the report attract the Kurds to the CHP?

We do not know how aware he is, but political Islamists and Kurdish nationalists are strategic partners in their opposition to the Republic; one operates through religion and sect, the other through an ethno-feudal mentality. Any gain that the Kurdish nationalists will obtain through the persuasion of our people via the CHP, and through the acceptance of terrorists as legitimate, acceptable, and reputable, will in the end serve the political Islamist government.

In short, their ultimate goals are the same; to destroy the Republic of Turkey in its current form and replace it with an Islamist and Kurdish nationalist federation. Let us end our article by saying that Özgür Özel is unfortunately facilitating this quite well.
