Sometimes a single concept is worth hundreds of pages. You cannot fit the connotations that concept creates in the mind into short sentences. Kemalism is just like that.
The first connotation the concept of Kemalism evokes is anti-imperialism.
The heroic epic of the War of Independence comes alive before your eyes. Your heart opens to that faithful, determined, and hopeful will and struggle that stood against those who sought solutions in despair by taking refuge in imperialism. Kemalism is a guide to liberation not only for the Turkish Nation but also for countries struggling in the grip of imperialism.
Then, the concept of Kemalism makes you think about how the spirit of the 'Liberation' paved the way for the 'Foundation'. You remember how a forgotten, abandoned people, struggling with hunger, poverty, ignorance, and disease, were embraced, cherished, and entrusted with sovereignty unconditionally by being granted a national identity.
Kemalism is the first step toward the liberation of the people, their internalization of citizenship status, their realization of the spheres of rights and freedoms, and their being equipped with equal rights.
Kemalism is also the name of the Women's Revolution, a miracle rising in an underdeveloped society.
Kemalism is a journey toward becoming a civilized State under the leadership of reason and science. It is the first spark of the Turkish Nation's awakening from a centuries-long sleep, its surrender to its own reason, and its embrace of science, despite the suggestions and pressures of dogmas, superstitions, and religious exploiters.
The first spark is the signal flare for the path leading to the Enlightenment Revolution. To enlarge the light and illuminate our entire Nation, making Atatürk's Revolutions indispensable parts of our lives again is the criterion of patriotism.
The Founding Doctrine of the Republic of Turkey, established in 1923, was stated in Article 2 of the 1924 Constitution with the following words:
“The State of Turkey is Republican, Nationalist, Populist, Statist, Secular, and Reformist. Its official language is Turkish. Its capital is Ankara.”
This article is also a summary of Kemalism. The principles are the load-bearing columns of the Kemalist revolution and form a whole.
The Kemalist Enlightenment Association is based on a roadmap that addresses Turkey's problems in line with Kemalist Ideology and aims to contribute to the restart of the Enlightenment Process by bringing it to society.
The meeting on the "New Constitution" held in Gallipoli on December 8, 2024, aimed to warn society against the New Constitution Trap and resulted in massive participation and support.
We are going through days when the national awakening has begun and is growing like an avalanche. Public opinion polls show that the rate of those who define themselves as "Atatürkist-Nationalist-Kemalist" has reached 90%, and those who feel secure in a secular country exceed 70%.
As Association President Mr. Kemal Anadol also stated at the meeting, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk “has emerged from state protection and returned to the bosom of the nation.” In the dark picture Turkey is experiencing, he is practically reborn every day and guides his Nation. With his thoughts, achievements, and extraordinary foresight, he continues to show Turkey the ways out and renders all the efforts of imperialism and the "mandate" roles it has tailored for Turkey void.
The Kemalist Enlightenment Association, while aiming to revive the Kemalist Enlightenment by overcoming the darkness in cooperation with contemporary and patriotic non-governmental organizations that see His thoughts, principles, and revolutions as the only "prescription for salvation," draws its greatest strength from Atatürk.
What did Atatürk say? “There are no hopeless situations, there are only hopeless people. I have never lost my hope.”
We continue on our path with all patriots who have not lost their hope.
