YÖK support for terrorist amnesty

The 'Terror-Free Turkey' fairy tale of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), which paved the way for the deception that 'peace and brotherhood' would be brought to the country by granting amnesty to terrorists, failed to receive the expected support from the public. 

It was not expected to receive it anyway. Attempts to flatter the families of martyrs and our veterans, to deliver speeches on peace and brotherhood, and to tame the PKK and its political extensions by granting status to a baby killer have dashed the hopes of the architects of this imperialist project.

This nation, which has been trying to cope with the oppression of the PKK for 40 years, carries the pain of those days in its memory with all its vividness. Because it knows what it has lived through, it sees very clearly what it will experience in the coming process and the separatist plan hidden behind this project.

Those who surround the television stations, those who are afraid to voice their suspicions, and those who seek a way to avoid being accused by expressing their criticisms in the mildest possible form have failed to convince society.

While the extensions of terrorism have the courage to express their reckless statements and unconstitutional demands at the highest volume, those who want to protect the founding values of the Republic, the nation-state, and the unitary structure are silent.

Outdated nationalists and opportunistic politicians who talk about a new Republic and a new identity have found the field empty and are planting dynamite at the foundations of the state.

Supporters of the PKK's brutal terrorism are demonstrating in the squares, thrusting the posters of the terrorist into the eyes of the children of this homeland.

The state does not see, does not hear... Defending the PKK, demanding education in the mother tongue, and talking about a new state and a new constitutional identity are not crimes.

Because in this country, being a patriot is now a crime...

Protecting the founding values of the Republic of Turkey is a crime...

'How happy is the one who can say I am a Turk' requires courage...

Saying 'I am a Turk' is racism, while saying 'I am a Kurd' is the golden key to democratization...

However, they could neither convince the Nation nor the true intellectuals.

For this reason, they rolled up their sleeves and started a new project. 

First, they took hold of the schools; as the new academic year began, they sent a letter to school principals to have 'Terror-Free Turkey' explained to students.

Then it was the turn of higher education.

YÖK (Council of Higher Education) took on this sacred (!) duty and, in line with the decision taken at its meeting on August 27, sent an official letter to all universities.

• To conduct academic research on the process

• To organize panels, conferences, and workshops

• To share the 'scientific evaluations' they will produce with the public.

When was the letter sent?

ON AUGUST 30...

YÖK President Özvar defined universities as 'places of brotherhood where differences are a richness, where young people meet at the same desks and walk together toward the future,' and stated that 'it is not enough for universities to just support the process, but that they must contribute to the construction of lasting social peace through knowledge, science, and research.'

A part of the letter sent with Özvar's signature is as follows;

'As is known, the education and training, history, culture, and values that will carry our geography into the future are the common denominator on which we all agree. 

In this context, addressing the goal of a Terror-Free Turkey with its social, economic, legal, political, cultural, and security dimensions with the contribution of different disciplines, conducting academic research and studies, organizing panels, conferences, and workshops, and sharing the scientific evaluations that will be put forward with the public will make a significant contribution to the process.'

Universities have been brought into play because the Terror-Free Turkey fairy tale did not find sufficient support from intellectual circles. Universities have been chosen as the new accomplices of the project. Brainwashing the youth has been given to YÖK as a duty.

Look at this coincidence: a short time ago, Faik Özgür Erol, a member of the DEM İmralı Delegation, made a statement complaining that 'the intellectual support given to the process was insufficient.'

In other words, it is clear that we are stepping into a second 'what did they ask for that we did not give' era.

However, neither the Turkish Nation nor the Turkish Youth will be a partner in this dirty scenario; the light of Atatürk and the power of our true intellectuals will overcome the imperialist-guided projects of the co-opted cadres.

This Nation has only one Leader; Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Walking on the path he showed, integrating with his love, and protecting the Republic of Turkey, which is his greatest work, is the only way to overcome the darkness.
