From Muhammad Ali to Mohamed Salah: Trabzon and Muslims

Trabzon is one of the most central regions of Turkishness.

Just as it is a center today, it was also a center of the Eastern Roman Empire.

Sumela Monastery is the most important document of this.

It is the best example of its kind.

For this reason, the transfer of a star like Mohamed Salah—a star of the recent World Cup, the English league, and the Muslim world—is important.

Before Salah, there was the late, famous boxer Muhammad Ali for the Muslim world.

For Muslims, who had been defeated in the fields of science, technology, art, philosophy, and industry since the eleventh century, Muhammad Ali’s hook was the lucky charm that kept them connected to life and to their struggle with the civilized world.

A thousand years later, Muhammad Ali’s fist tried to be a catalyst for awakening and to explain that success does not come without effort.

Muslims tried to face the story and embarrassment of their backwardness and inferiority in the face of industrial revolutions with the fist of Muhammad Ali.

Despite the light of Muhammad Ali, they could not participate in revolutionary processes, instead adopting a philosophy of laziness and leaving the Creator, who gave them reason, out of the equation.

Lacking in industrial revolutions, lacking in social rights, lacking in production, lacking in productivity, lacking in philosophy, lacking in mathematics.

So where do you exist?

You exist in the ocean, but not as an oceanographer.

You are the one drowning in the blue waters.

Despite the high risk of death, eighty-five percent of the refugees trying to cross the seas in primitive inflatable boats are Muslim.

And these Muslims are swimming toward non-Muslim countries.

Having lost the ability to expand through Islamic philosophy after the eleventh century, Muslims chose the path of conquest through population transfer.

The wealthy minority reached Europe in first-class seats.

The majority washed up on the shores of the European mainland in inflatable boats.

And on that land, they dream of multiplying and achieving new conquests by reciting the adhan, performing prayers, and reproducing.

They dream, but they do not bring to mind what happened to Al-Andalus.

They cannot bring it to mind because Muslims, who were engaged in basic sciences such as medicine, space, philosophy, and mathematics until the eleventh century, lost their connection with reality when they turned toward dreams and fantasies like hadith, siyar, and stories, especially after the fifteenth century.

The broken bond stopped the science-based growth of Islamic philosophy.

It started its growth based on superstition.

Mohamed Salah is trying to wake Muslims up with his shots, aiming to re-establish this broken bond and place it on a scientific foundation.

Trabzon is also trying to be a catalyst for this awakening.

I do not know if it will happen.

In my opinion, it does not look very likely.
