The Germans laid the fundamental building blocks of world industry, if not in the first, then in the second industrial revolution.
Germany has produced numerous scientists and engineers who guided the Industrial Revolution (especially during the 2nd Industrial Revolution period in the second half of the 19th century) in the fields of chemistry, electricity, engineering, and automotive. German scientists transformed the process that England started with textiles and steam power into a global force by integrating laboratory research into heavy industry.

Chemistry and Agricultural Technologies
Justus von Liebig (1803–1873): He is the founder of agricultural chemistry. Thanks to the artificial fertilizer he discovered, he increased agricultural productivity exponentially, ensuring the feeding of the growing population in industrial cities and modernization in agriculture.
Fritz Haber (1868–1934) & Carl Bosch (1874–1940): They developed the Haber-Bosch method, which enabled the production of ammonia on an industrial scale by extracting nitrogen from the air. This invention formed the cornerstone of both global fertilizer production and the modern chemical industry (especially within the BASF company).
Electricity and Heavy Industry Werner von Siemens (1816–1892): He is one of the pioneers of modern electrical engineering. By developing the dynamo, he made electric current suitable for large-scale industrial production. He also revolutionized urban public transport by establishing the first electric railway and tram lines.
Rudolf Bunsen (1811–1899): With his work in the field of spectroscopy, especially the "Bunsen burner" (laboratory burner) named after him, he facilitated the chemical analysis of substances used in industry.
Energy and Automotive Engineering
Nikolaus Otto (1832–1891): He invented the four-stroke internal combustion engine, which was a breakthrough in industry and transportation. This engine structure is the basic operating principle of today's automobiles.
Karl Benz (1844–1929) & Gottlieb Daimler (1834–1900): Benz produced and patented the first modern gasoline-powered automobile (1886). The engine and vehicle designs of Benz and Daimler completely changed the logistics and transportation sector, becoming one of the greatest symbols of the 2nd Industrial Revolution.
Rudolf Diesel (1858–1913): He invented the diesel engine, which operates with much higher efficiency. This invention radically increased power and efficiency in factories, heavy machinery, ships, and trains.
Optics and Precision Mechanics Carl Zeiss (1816–1888) & Ernst Abbe (1840–1905): Zeiss's precision mechanical skill combined with physics professor Abbe's optical theories to place microscope and lens production on a completely scientific basis. In this way, industrial research in the fields of metallurgy (metal science) and medicine gained great momentum.
While doing all this, they started two World Wars due to the pressures brought by competition and increasing energy needs.

However, the Germans' withdrawal from engineering investments and their focus on social and legal sciences reduced the risk of war.

As Turkey, which is a secure corridor in the energy line, also committed to its NATO duties, both the preparation phase for the third World War ended and Germany saved its skin from being bombed every 50 years.
