Passport for sale by owner

I swear, it had crossed my mind too.

Inflating prices to skim a little off the top.

When I heard the news that a passport would be given to anyone who buys a house for four hundred thousand dollars, the first thing that came to my mind was the non-linear equation in valuation.

It was not difficult at all to set a price of four hundred thousand dollars for a two hundred thousand dollar house.

It was possible to polish some of the house's interior features and inflate the price.

A real estate appraisal expert could easily do this, and indeed, they already have.

Clearly, a good haul was made from this valuation business.

By multiplying market values by two or even three, the prices of residences purchased for passports were inflated again and again. 

A four hundred thousand dollar invoice was issued for a two hundred thousand dollar house so that the threshold for a passport could be reached and the whole family could become passport holders.

Many countries around the world implement similar practices to overcome economic bottlenecks.

We could even call it a kind of real estate tourism.

America leads the way in the “passport for sale by owner” practice.

The Portuguese government has set its sights specifically on the educated and retired segments of neighboring countries. 

It opens its doors wide to those who can document that they live on a pension.

Some Balkan countries also grant passports in exchange for economic instruments such as housing or funds to remedy stagnation in their markets.

But I am not sure if this inflated appraisal business done in Turkey is practiced in other countries.

This chicanery, which has been talked about in the markets for a long time, has finally come to light. 

The Ministry of Justice shared that an investigation has been launched into a gang found to be facilitating the acquisition of citizenship through irregular means.

Irregular appraisers are being questioned.

Hundreds of passports are being canceled. 

There must, of course, be a price for becoming a citizen with a passport the easy way through housing, without making any contribution to the country, without paying taxes, and without even performing military service, while sharing in all its infrastructure and comforts.
