After signing the PKK law, which was passed in Parliament with a record number of votes on August 10, the anniversary of the Treaty of Sèvres, Erdoğan wished for the law to be "auspicious" and thanked "those who contributed to this important step taken for Turkey's peaceful, prosperous, and secure future."

At the end of his message, Erdoğan emphasized the following:

"We will continue to manage the process, which we have conducted with an approach that takes into account the sensitivities of our entire nation, especially the relatives of our martyrs and our veterans, with the same sincerity and meticulousness, on the ground determined by the Law and under the leadership of our relevant institutions and boards."

Just one day before the PKK law, Parliament had also passed a package for martyrs' families and veterans.

However, there were those who found this package very insufficient and described it merely as "giving a finger of honey" because of the PKK law.

These were the families of those who fell as martyrs while serving as privates, and those who were veterans; as of yesterday, they had been sleeping and living in Güvenpark in Ankara's Kızılay district for exactly 37 days for their personal rights.

When I stopped by to see them the day before, Erdoğan had not yet signed either the PKK law or the law concerning them.

Since they had no hope that he would turn them away, their only wish was, "At least let him not sign them on the same day."

However, Erdoğan signed both laws on the same day, and they were published in the Official Gazette on the same day.

Platform Spokesperson Erdem Çerçioğlu also drew attention to this yesterday, saying, "Both our rights were not granted and the terrorists were released. History will not forgive you."

Understand how much their sensitivities were taken into account and how hurt they are!..

The Statue of "Agit"

There was a concern that the PKK law would be signed on August 15, the anniversary of the Şemdinli-Eruh raids, which were the first armed actions of the separatist terrorist organization. Fortunately, this did not happen.

But the KCK, the umbrella organization that supposedly dissolved itself, and its extensions in the cities, celebrated the 42nd anniversary of this massacre in such a way!..

While "festivities" were being held in the cities, the KCK Executive Council glorified the Şemdinli-Eruh massacre, which it described as a "historic turning point," as follows:

"We are experiencing the 42nd anniversary of our glorious August 15 revolutionary breakthrough at a time when there are important developments in terms of the struggle for freedom and democracy in Kurdistan, the Middle East, and the world. We celebrate the August 15 resistance and resurrection festival, the guerrilla festival, of all our comrades, especially leader Apo, our guerrilla forces, women and youth, our people, and our friends... Long live our August 15 revolutionary breakthrough! Long live our great commander, comrade Agit!"

For those who do not know or have forgotten; let us remind you of this "Agit," who is called the "legendary guerrilla commander of the Kurdish freedom movement" and who "fired the first bullet" in Şemdinli-Eruh. His real name is Mahsum Korkmaz.

In 2014, while the first "opening-up" process was ongoing; when it was revealed on the anniversary of August 15 that a statue of him had been erected in the PKK cemetery established in Yolçatı Village of Diyarbakır's Lice district, and that deputies from the PKK's political extension had also attended the opening ceremony of the statue, MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli, who was against the opening-up process at the time, reacted as follows:

"Exactly 30 long years have passed since the state dignitaries' messages of 'The looters will get their lesson' after the heinous assassination by the PKK members. But the looters, far from learning a lesson, have gradually achieved their demands; concessionary and collaborative administrations have backed the terrorist organization and attempted to disrupt Turkey's bonds of brotherhood and territorial integrity. The terror, which had been zeroed out in 2002, has begun to reap the fruits of its 30-year bloody past with the tolerance and favoritism shown by the AKP government to separatism... The statue of the murderer named Mahsum Korkmaz, one of the terrorists who carried out the separatist organization's first armed attack, has been erected. This vile attempt and challenge has not only made the bones of our beloved martyrs ache; it has turned into a very clear, very explicit, and very dirty attack on Turkey's national, spiritual, and historical rights."

"No citizen of ours who has a conscience; who lives an honest, faithful, ambitious, and principled life will accept such a defeat and disgrace. It is an undeniable fact that every vote cast for Erdoğan on August 10 went to the PKK, increased Kandil's courage, and instilled hope in the terrorists. While Erdoğan was smiling on August 10, the Imralı murderer was also smiling, Barzani was excited, and those who gunned down babies were overjoyed. Moreover, the fact that the PKK statue rising in Diyarbakır Lice was unveiled after August 10 should not be seen as surprising in terms of timing. The separatist and destructive lobby that wants to tear Turkey apart seeking legitimacy by wearing a mask of democracy and taking a victory lap will unlock disasters in the short and medium term."

"In this respect, Erdoğan's new Turkey is bankruptcy, denial, and national annihilation itself. While a statue of terrorists is being built in Diyarbakır on one hand, the spirit, discipline, and legacy of the fight against terror are being vilified and degraded on the other. Erdoğan and his gang of evil, who erase the TC (Republic of Turkey) from signs, scrape away Turkishness, and uproot nationalism; are rotting the Turkish nation from within by making the PKK have a wedding celebration... Erdoğan's unity of purpose and goal with the enemies of the PKK and Turkey will not go unpunished."

"As long as those who erected the terrorist statue in Diyarbakır do not account for the martyr's blood they shed, and as long as the Erdoğan and Öcalan betrayal does not receive the treatment it deserves, peaceful sleep will be forbidden to the Nationalist-Idealist Movement. The Turkish nation must see the grave danger. It must realize that the Erdoğan and Öcalan coalition is tears, disintegration, frustration, ruin, and defeat. Let it not be forgotten that if a statue of PKK members is erected today, it means that tomorrow the homeland will be divided, the flag will be lowered, the state will collapse, and the nation's grave will be dug. Those who consider these as delusions will have no choice but to endure the consequences of the imminent threats."

Let us also convey the response given by the then-Minister of Interior, and current AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala, to the press that reported on the statue and those who reacted to this disgrace.

Stating that they saw "a cooperation in the attempt to 'stab the stability in Turkey' through the problems that Turkey has put on the path to resolution" in the incident, Ala said, "There is a statue there, a simple statue made of fiberglass material, that is. Look at the newspapers that serve and write about a simple statue. Look at those who raise a hue and cry and the cooperation in undermining this process in Turkey. They feed off of it if this problem continues."

Coming to the present day; since the terrorist organization and its supporters are still glorifying and celebrating the Eruh-Şemdinli massacre and saluting the head of the massacre by saying "long live our great commander," could a concrete one be erected in place of the "fiberglass" statue that was demolished by an operation organized by security forces after the court decided to seize it in 2014? It could indeed!..

Blockade on Mother Pakize

The PKK members and their extensions said, "We are not regretful. We did not do anything to be regretful about..."

They explained that the PKK law was the "first step" and brought out a thousand-kilometer-long list...

They celebrated the first massacre...

It was neither denied by the authorities nor was anyone intervened with...

Now let us look at the protest of the families of the privates who were martyrs and the privates who were veterans in Güvenpark.

When they wanted to march to Parliament to react to the law concerning them, the police cried on one hand, and on the other, they blockaded them all and did not let them move.

When Pakize Akbaba, President of the Martyrs' Mothers Association, came to Güvenpark for support the day before; she emphasized that she would go and sit at the door of Parliament as soon as it opened, saying, "We will take our rights by force."

Oh, how dare you say that!..

All four sides of Güvenpark were blockaded by the Riot Police. All roads leading to Parliament were closed. They waited for hours.

Mother Pakize, who could not bear to see the police waiting for hours, left Güvenpark with her cane and went to the side of the police delegation that came under the leadership of a female commissioner. While hugging and kissing them, she said, "I cannot bear to see you. I will not upset you. May no stone touch your feet. I thank you, I kiss you all. Mother Pakize did not come to upset them."

Afterwards, she reacted to the fact that the rights of the privates were not granted and to the PKK law, saying, "I am Pakize Akbaba. Did you ask me, you are pardoning the murderer of my child?" and asked Erdoğan to answer this question.

Since the primary desire and duty of the police was to learn whether Mother Pakize would march to Parliament and hold a sit-in protest there, they asked what her plan was.

Mother Pakize replied, "I want to wait a little. Parliament is closed."

When the police asked for a hint about the timing, she asked, "Did my son know when he would be martyred? Had he eaten his breakfast before he was martyred?" and noted the following:

"You do not speak. I will speak for all of you. Our prayers are with you. I will not hinder your duty; but I have a promise to my martyr, do not hinder my duty either. Do not worry at all, we came to teach some people a lesson and put them in their place. For now, there is nothing."

After this conversation, Mother Pakize hugged and kissed the police again, and as she slowly returned to the guard post inside Güvenpark with her cane, the riot police with shields continued to wait for hours, just in case.

This is the situation, oh Turkish Nation!..
