The number one issue for humanity in our country and across the world is Israel's genocide in Palestine... Cyprus is also an issue that should be in the top three regarding Turkey's security. Because Israel is settling there step by step.
Erdoğan was in Kazakhstan last Thursday. He attended both the Turkey-Kazakhstan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting and the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States.
We have an "Enhanced Strategic Partnership" relationship with Kazakhstan. In his meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Erdoğan stated that they had a productive exchange of views on many issues, from trade to energy, from defense industry cooperation to transportation and global issues. Noting that Kazakhstan has made valuable contributions to the integration of the Turkic world from the very beginning, Erdoğan also emphasized the following:
"Hopefully, we will make the coming period the Century of the Turkic World together... We are determined to build new bridges in the geography extending from the Eastern Mediterranean to the depths of Central Asia with the motto of 'unity in language, thought, and action'."
During the visit, while the order established in the name of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi was presented to Erdoğan for the first time, 13 agreements were signed in various fields, primarily the "Declaration of Eternal Friendship and Partnership" between the two countries.
GAZA IS NOT MENTIONED... TRNC IS JUST A "WISH"
When there is such camaraderie, one would expect both leaders, or at least Erdoğan, to cry out about the common problem of humanity, Gaza, and the course of events in Cyprus from the heart of Central Asia, right?
No, he did not mention Gaza; as for Cyprus, he only expressed his satisfaction that the TRNC would participate in the Organization of Turkic States Summit as an observer.
Let us move on to the Organization of Turkic States Summit held in the city of Turkistan, Kazakhstan, on Friday. The agenda of the summit was "Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development," and the Presidents of other brotherly countries Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the TRNC were also there.
Erdoğan did not mention Gaza in his speech there either. While saying, "We need to strengthen our defense and increase cooperation in the industrial field," he pointed to "Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, Ukraine, and many other crises." For the TRNC, he used the following two sentences:
"Another issue that makes the summit meaningful for us is the representation of the Turkish Cypriot people, an inseparable part of the Turkic world... I wish for the Turkic world to continue strengthening its political, economic, and cultural relations with the TRNC."
In the joint declaration published at the end of the summit, it was confirmed that "artificial intelligence and digital development are a strategic priority for the Turkic world," and "commitment to deepening comprehensive, multilateral cooperation in these areas" was declared.
When did Erdoğan mention Gaza during this historic visit? On his way to Kazakhstan, in his article titled "The Key to Peace in Eurasia: The Turkic World" published in Kazinform, one of Kazakhstan's most established news agencies, he brought it up as follows:
While explaining that the rules-based international order is eroding, he said, "The clearest and most painful example of this is what is happening in Gaza. Israel is trampling on the common values of humanity with the crimes against humanity it commits."
Also, while explaining the meaning of the visit, he noted that "in these days when our region is being tested on both political and economic levels, such as the crisis between the US-Israel and Iran and the fragile ceasefire process in Gaza, the bilateral meetings he will hold in Kazakhstan are of great importance."
While this is the picture in Kazakhstan, an Israeli minister is carrying out a new raid on the Al-Aqsa Mosque accompanied by fanatic occupiers, and in Ankara, AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik and Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran were condemning this attack and calling on the "international community to adopt an effective and decisive stance"!..
LET TURKEY NOT BE THE "GOLDEN BRIDGE" BETWEEN TRUMP AND ASIA
Erdoğan called the President of Kazakhstan, Tokayev, "my dear brother." Tokayev also described Turkey as a "golden bridge" connecting Europe and Asia, and said that Ankara has reached an unshakable status as a "central country" in Eurasian geopolitics.
But what kind of "brotherhood" is this; neither the Israeli genocide nor the siege of Cyprus is on their agenda.
The reason?
Let's start with the Israeli genocide.
What happened when Trump hosted the leaders of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and observer members Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, all members of the Organization of Turkic States, at the White House on November 6?
While Trump was explaining how he had cornered these five Central Asian countries, especially regarding critical minerals, "dear brother" Tokayev showered Trump with praise, saying, "You are a great leader. You are a statesman sent from heaven to restore the common sense and traditions that we all share and value..." Uzbekistan leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev said, "No US president has treated Central Asia like you. In Uzbekistan, we call you the 'president of peace'."
But most importantly; after Trump and Tokayev held a joint phone call with the genocidal Netanyahu, Kazakhstan decided to sign the Abraham Accords aimed at normalizing its relations with Israel. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced that "this important decision was taken solely in line with Kazakhstan's interests and is fully compatible with the state's balanced, constructive, and peaceful foreign policy."
Since this is the bitter truth; it is no surprise that the Israeli genocide is not brought to the agenda, but while Trump has taken hold of Central Asia like this; "how will the coming period be made the Century of the Turkic World and how will the motto of 'unity in language, thought, and action' from the Eastern Mediterranean to the depths of Central Asia" be realized?!
TURKEY DECLARED A "RAPIST" IN THE GREEK PARLIAMENT
If we descend from the Eastern Mediterranean to the depths of Central Asia;
These five countries, members and observer members of the Organization of Turkic States, opened embassies in the Greek Cypriot administration in April 2025 and signed decisions stating that Turkey is an "occupier" in Cyprus.
This time, the EU, which the government still considers a "strategic target," was in the lead role, and it was claimed that the Turkic republics sold out the TRNC for 12 billion Euros.
But the government remained silent for exactly 20 days. At the end of 20 days, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated, "in principle, we prefer not to discuss family matters in public," and said, "The Turkic world will continue to stand by the Turkish Cypriots as a whole. We will patiently continue our policies on this matter."
Is there any development at the last summit in Kazakhstan? No, we continue to be pleased that the TRNC participates as an observer!..
As it happens; on the day Erdoğan was in Kazakhstan, Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides was speaking at the Plenary Session of the Greek Parliament for the first time in 16 years on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the "declaration of independence of Cyprus."
While Greek Parliament Speaker Nikitas Kaklamanis said, "For 52 years, an occupying army has divided an EU country in two," and stated that "a solution is not possible without the complete withdrawal of occupying troops, the elimination of anachronistic guarantee systems, and the interventionist rights of third parties," the Greek Cypriot Leader Christodoulides voiced the following delusions:
"The illegal, barbaric invasion of Attila in 1963 and subsequently in 1974... This occupation still rapes 37 percent of the territory of the Republic of Cyprus... From that dark summer of 1974 to this day, Turkey has committed one of the greatest armed crimes in Europe's post-war history... The event that took place in Ukraine and rightly caused the strongest reaction from the international community happened in Cyprus half a century ago and unfortunately continues to this day... The support we receive from our partners in the EU is important. The Cyprus problem is also a European problem... A two-state solution cannot exist even as a thought. We will never accept the legalization of illegality... The liberation and reunification of Cyprus is an oath that unites us all in Cyprus and Greece, independent of party preferences or ideological choices."
All our "brothers" have gathered for the Organization of Turkic States Summit. Even if they have recognized the Greek Cypriot administration, don't we have the right to expect them to say a few words against these delusions?.. How is that possible!..
Without forgetting; on the same day, Christodoulides claimed that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was preparing a new roadmap for the "Cyprus problem," that contacts would intensify in the coming months, and that a comprehensive solution plan could be put on the table, while also alleging that "in the work done behind the scenes by the UN, the Secretary-General's meeting with Erdoğan in Ankara in March was decisive, and that Erdoğan gave the green light to the negotiations."
If it is true, who can we complain to whom?!
