Now that the SDF/YPG has been digested, what openings are next?!

The “January 30 agreement” signed between the former HTS leader, Syrian President Colani/Shara, and the head of the Syrian PKK/SDF, Mazlum Kobani, has energized the pro-government media just as the March 10 agreement did last year.

The following headlines were used again: “Historic unity agreement in Syria... Step back from the YPG... The terrorists' dream is completely over... Syria has united... The state in Syria is now established... The SDF/YPG has bowed to authority... Syria is now one color... The expected end in Syria... The YPG has given up.”

As Erdoğan reiterated after the Cabinet meeting just the other day, what did Ankara want regarding the SDF/PKK/YPG? “One army, one state, one Syria.” The HTS/Damascus administration, on the other hand, was advocating for “the integration of the SDF into the Syrian army as individuals, one by one.”

So, in Erdoğan's own words, were these demands met with the “agreements reached between the Syrian Government and the structure called the SDF on January 18 and January 30”?

Given that the agreement stipulates that “the SDF will be integrated into the new division to be established as three brigades, and into the division in Aleppo as one brigade,” and that “the SDF will propose the Deputy Minister of Defense of Syria and the Governor of Hasakah,” the answer is, of course, no.

The agreement also contains these details: It consists of 4 stages... Military arrangements will be made in the first phase... Within this scope, a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire will be declared on all fronts...

In short; it is not a signed agreement, but a new ceasefire and a memorandum to gain time. We will come to what time is being gained for in a moment.

IS “THE LAWRENCE OF THE KURDS, MAJOR NOEL, DEFEATED AGAIN”?

Even Okan Müderrisoğlu, the Ankara representative of the pro-government newspaper Sabah, warned that “the section on the integration of armed elements in the ‘January 30 Agreement,’ which was announced to have been reached between the Syrian central administration and the YPG in the guise of the SDF, requires high vigilance... If applied incorrectly, it will give birth to regional/organizational blocs under official uniforms and sow the seeds of institutional division!” while Hüseyin Likoğlu, Editor-in-Chief of Yeni Şafak, claimed that “Major Noel,” known as the “Lawrence of the Kurds,” had “lost again.”

Since the agreement in question was signed with the cooperation of Trump's colonial governor Tom Barrack, French President Macron, and the Barzanis, and according to the DEM party members, with the efforts of the terrorist leader in Imralı; let us see whether Major Noel lost or not.

Tom Barrack, while declaring the SDF/PKK/YPG the representative of the Kurds by saying, “This has a special meaning for the Kurdish people,” stated that “both sides have taken courageous steps.”

In a statement made on behalf of Macron from the Élysée Palace, it was reported that “France will resolutely continue its support for the SDF and the gains of the Kurdish people.”

Masoud Barzani, whom Tom Barrack called to offer special gratitude and thanks on behalf of Trump and himself for his “significant role in the ceasefire and comprehensive consensus reached between the Syrian government and the SDF,” emphasized the following in a message he sent to a rally supporting “Rojava-Western Kurdistan” held in Bonn, Germany, one day after the agreement:

“At the beginning of the twentieth century, Kurdistan lands were unjustly divided... As in other parts of Kurdistan, the Kurdish people have a long history of struggle in Western Kurdistan... Currently, our people in Western Kurdistan are facing a new threat, a complex and dangerous situation. Supporting our brothers in Western Kurdistan is the national and patriotic duty of every Kurd. The voice of each of you has an impact on the morale and resistance of the Kurdish people in Kurdistan, and especially in Western Kurdistan... We are one nation, we have one history and one future... Our Kurdishness is above all kinds of ideology.”

Let us come to the terrorist leader in Imralı, who says “Rojava is my red line” and told the deputies sent to him that he was against the dissolution and disarmament of the SDF/YPG on the grounds that “Shara could turn into a dictator,” and to the DEM front, which has stirred up the world with the claim that “a massacre is being carried out in Rojava.”

Pervin Buldan, one of the leading representatives of Imralı, claimed that the terrorist leader was “decisive” in the January 18 agreement and said that they had conveyed the messages they received from him on January 17 to the relevant places, and that thanks to this, they had “turned back from the edge of the abyss.”

Let us recall the statement they made one day after the January 17 visit; was there a call for the SDF to disarm, dissolve, and integrate; no. What was there instead; the emphasis that “all problems in Syria can only be solved through dialogue, negotiation, and common sense” and the call for “all actors and parties to play their positive roles and act carefully and responsibly.”

The statements of other DEM members also revealed that there was no change in their “Rojava” goals, and that they were only playing for time.

For example, DEM spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan, speaking at the “February 1 World Rojava Day” event, said, “Rojava winning and Kobani not falling means we win,” while DEM co-chair Tülay Hatimoğulları demanded that the name of the Syrian Arab Republic be changed.

The other co-chair, Tuncer Bakırhan, in a march held in Diyarbakır after the agreement, praised the “Rojava revolution” and emphasized that “they will never allow the Kurds to remain voiceless, identityless, and without status for another 100 years.” While thanking the terrorist leader in Imralı, Masoud and Nechirvan Barzani, and Bafel Talabani, he said, “For the first time in history, Kurds in all 4 parts have united on the issue of Rojava. Rojava is the red line of the Kurds.” While calling on Colani/Shara to “recognize the administrative status of the ‘Kurds,’ that is, the SDF/YPG, and guarantee it constitutionally,” he noted the following:

“There was an agreement in Syria, now it is Turkey's turn... The handling of the political and democratic demands of the Kurds in Syria through negotiation is an important example for Turkey as much as it is for the region... Now the expectation is that the rights and freedoms of the Kurds in Turkey will be guaranteed through democratic means.”

Let us also convey the words Bakırhan uttered under the roof of the Parliament yesterday. After stating that “Rojava is the apple of the Kurds' eye” and saying, “The time is now to ensure Kurdish national unity that will win 100 years of freedom against the 100-year imposition of slavery,” and explaining that “the consensus in Syria is a new hope for the acceleration of the process,” he spoke as follows:

“The excuses have run out, now it is time for concrete and reassuring steps. The framework law must be enacted without a single day's delay... Turkey should no longer spend its energy on Damascus but on Ankara; it should focus on the ‘Ankara solution’.”

This is exactly what we mean by “the January 30 agreement is a memorandum to gain time”; that the Syrian example be made the basis and engine of new openings!..

HAS BAHÇELİ ALSO GIVEN UP ON THE LIQUIDATION OF THE SDF?

Now we come to the statements Bahçeli has made about the SDF since January 18. He said;

- “The SDF is a terrorist organization and does not represent the Syrian Kurds... The YPG/SDF and all structures under it must be dissolved rapidly and completely, and connected to the relevant institutions in a way that there is no turning back.”

- “The roots of terrorist activities must be eradicated not only west of the Euphrates but also east of the Euphrates... The SDF/YPG must be completely uprooted and expelled from Syria.”

The same Bahçeli, in his Parliamentary Group Meeting yesterday, interpreted the January 30 agreement with the words, “It is understood that military and security integration will be carried out on an individual basis within the brigades,” and made the following assessments just like the pro-government media:

“A new equation, a new paradigm, a new structure has emerged in the Syrian Republic. This situation is the expected, necessary goal... It has become clear that there will be no state within a state in Syria, and that a parallel army will remain a dream. Now, the map of our neighbor Syria has turned into a single color, and those who acted as hired hitmen for Zionist-imperialism have been removed from the areas they occupied.”

Then, claiming that the “founding leader” had kept all his promises, he shouted, “Let those who turn back turn back, I will not turn back from my path!”!..

ARE THESE ALSO ACCEPTED?

Now that the recognition of the SDF/YPG by Ankara is complete, what is next?

It has been reported that Mazlum Kobani, the head of the SDF, who is still sought on our Ministry of Interior's “red list” as a member of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization, has, in accordance with the January 30 agreement, proposed Bedran Çiyakurd and Azad Simi for the Syrian Ministry of Defense, Redur Halil for the Hasakah Public Security Presidency, and Nureddin İsa Ahmet for the Hasakah Governorship.

Let us read who these proposed names are from the pro-government newspaper Yeni Şafak.

In the news titled “Qandil list from SDF to Damascus,” it is stated that Bedran Çiyakurd, who is close to one of the terrorist leaders in Qandil, Cemil Bayık, has taken part in many armed actions against Turkey in the past, while Azad Simi, who is still sought by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices of Van, Hakkari, and Şırnak, is emphasized to be the planner/executor of many bloody actions, including the 2007 Dağlıca, 2008 Aktütün, and 2011 Çukurca attacks, in which a total of 104 of our soldiers were martyred. It was explained that Nureddin İsa Ahmet, whose appointment as Governor of Hasakah was announced as approved, was the former director of the notorious Alaya Prison in Qamishli, that almost his entire family is in the ranks of the PKK, and that he participated in clashes against the TSK and the Syrian National Army for many years.

Whether the appointment of those terrorists to these positions will be digested is unknown, but since it has started to be discussed that Turkey should take the agreement in Syria as an example; let us start thinking about the names that the “founding leader” in Imralı will propose from now on!..
