The meaning of that medal!..

While Trump, the greatest patron of genocidal Israel, said of Erdoğan, "We trust you in the region... We will work with you on our regional policies," he also announced that he expected "extraordinary work" from Tom Barrack, whom he appointed as the colonial governor of the region.

Barrack also accomplished a lot of "work" in a short time.

He attributed the "setbacks regarding the Kurds" to Lausanne...

While stating that Turkey could be the "central point" in the region, he proposed the "millet system from the Ottoman Empire"...

Drawing a line from the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean and likening Cyprus to an "abscess in the middle of a healthy body," he admitted that they had been "hindered by nation-states since 1919"...

Let us come to Erdoğan.

In his speeches centered on the rise of HTS leader Jolani/Shara to power in Syria, regional developments, and the PKK opening, he frequently voiced "Turkish, Kurdish, Arab unity" and said the following:

- "We lost the First World War, borders were drawn between us, walls were built. Whenever we separated; we lost, we were defeated... These people do not know what the consciousness of the Ummah is or is not."

- "Turks, Kurds, and Arabs will solve the problems of our region together by uniting as they did in history, as one heart, looking in the same direction. We have a single and common umbrella, and that is Islamic brotherhood."

Coincidentally, in a news analysis titled "A New Concept for the Middle East," prepared based on "diplomatic sources" yesterday in the pro-government newspaper Yeni Şafak, these words of Erdoğan were recalled, and it was emphasized that "the necessity of an inclusive regional cooperation model, under Turkey's leadership, where the Middle East can handle its own issues with its own will, has come to the agenda" and that "Turkey has conveyed this request to the diplomatic interlocutors it has met with." Within the scope of this work, it is aimed for "Muslim countries that have a say in Turkey and the world" to come together and realize "a kind of solidarity and integration project."

As if we don't know at all who rules the countries in the region, or whose hand is in whose pocket!..

"COME ON, KING"

Let us move from here to the meeting between Erdoğan and King Abdullah II of Jordan at Dolmabahçe in Istanbul the other day.

The pro-government newspaper Milat ran this headline yesterday: "Come On, King"...

The sub-headline of the news stated the following:

"The wind has turned against Israel in the Middle East and the world. Turkey, on the other hand, is rising rapidly. The King of Jordan, who until today has not gone against Israel's word, has come to Turkey in such a period."

Who was Erdoğan's guest; someone "who until today has not gone against Israel's word"!..

King Abdullah II, who etched himself into our memories by crying during the moment of silence at Anıtkabir when he came to Ankara as the guest of then-President Abdullah Gül in 2013, presented Erdoğan with Jordan's most important decoration, the "Order of Hussein bin Ali," during this latest visit.

Erdoğan, after saying, "I express my gratitude for the favor shown to my person. I see and accept this decoration as a concrete manifestation of the deep historical ties between our countries and our peoples. I believe that this exceptional decoration will further consolidate our deep-rooted fraternal and friendly relations," explained in his meetings with the King of Jordan that; "they have taken important decisions that will strengthen the friendship between the two countries," and that "they are in agreement on the point that peace, tranquility, security, and stability should prevail in every square meter of our region." He also stated that he "expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Jordan, which is the custodian of the holy sites in East Jerusalem, in this field."

At a time when the greatest threat in our region is the US-Israel attack on Iran, why is there not a single word about this in the Erdoğan-King meeting?!

HE WAS AN OTTOMAN DEPUTY... HE BECAME THE LEADER OF THE ARAB REVOLTS

What I am actually curious about is the identity of the Hussein bin Ali on that medal given to Erdoğan.

Since history is being rewritten in the "New Turkey"; former AKP deputy Yasin Aktay, in his column in Yeni Şafak last month, while stating that the subject of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire was not dwelt upon enough, made the following claims:

"For years, because we could not reconcile defeat with ourselves, we listened to stories that our allies, the Germans, had been defeated in the war, and therefore we were also considered defeated by default. Otherwise, how was it possible for us to have been defeated? Another story is still repeated without ever being questioned and without being measured against either historical data or logical criteria: The Arabs stabbed us in the back, and that is why we withdrew because we had no chance of holding on in the Arab geography. Accepting that the great Ottoman army collapsed because Sharif Hussein or a few Arab tribes betrayed and changed sides is not something that can be accepted by reason, logic, or the realities of history. The truth is that there were Arabs who fought on the Ottoman side until the last day, and even continued to fight in favor of the Ottomans even after the Ottomans withdrew from the war, and wrote epics in this path... The truth of the matter is that the idea of withdrawing from the Arab geography was already adopted by the Committee of Union and Progress officers long before, and the fact that a few Arab tribes switched to the British side only served those intentions and plans a little bit in the face of the intentions and plans of those officers. Otherwise, they did not have the power or capacity to play a leading role in this event."

Let us recall who Sharif Hussein was from the article titled "The cursed dynasty that could not die in its bed," written by Murat Bardakçı, one of the historians most loved by AKP members, in Hürriyet in 1999.

"The name of King Hussein's great-grandfather was 'Hussein bin Ali' and we called him 'Sharif Hussein.' He carried the title of 'Sharif' because it was believed that he was a descendant of the Prophet. He was born in Mecca in 1856. When it was understood that he had fallen for the ambition of 'establishing an independent Arab state and gathering all Arabs under a single flag' during the years of Sultan Abdulhamid's reign and had contacted the British for this purpose, he was brought to Istanbul and placed under house arrest. It was forbidden for him to leave the city, or even to step outside his house. He lived like this for years, but the Unionists who overthrew Abdulhamid and came to power did an unthinkable thing: Hussein was sent to Mecca with the title of 'Emir,' that is, the lamb was entrusted to the wolf. Then the empire entered the First World War, and Hussein's dreams slowly began to turn into reality in the form of the 'Arab revolt.' The gold sent from London and distributed by the famous Lawrence had a great effect on this; Hussein declared himself 'King of Hejaz' on September 9, 1916, and published a 'revolt' and 'jihad' declaration. He was saying, '...The Turks have left the religion... Jihad of the Arabs against the Turks is a duty...' The result of the declaration was that tens of thousands of Mehmetçiks (Turkish soldiers) died in the Arab deserts after being stabbed in the back. Hussein was not satisfied with the kingship, he immediately declared his caliphate after that, but no one other than a few tribes loyal to him recognized his caliphate... He left his throne in 1924 to Ibn Saud, the founder of the Saudi dynasty, who is the current ruler of Saudi Arabia, first fled to Cyprus, then moved to Amman, and died there in 1931. It is rumored that while he was delirious on his deathbed, he said, 'I should not have drawn my sword against the Ottomans,' and that he was worried about being cursed, but the passing years justified these rumors and concerns as well. None of his children or grandchildren who took the throne after him could die in their beds..."

If you ask, "How did you get from Hussein bin Ali to the betrayal of Sharif Hussein?"; well, this person whose name is given to Jordan's greatest decoration is the son of Sharif Hussein.

Being the son of Sharif Hussein is certainly not a crime. But there is also important information about Hussein bin Ali. First, let us read from the Encyclopedia of Islam:

"He is the son of Hejaz Emir Sharif Hussein. He was born in Mecca. Later he went to Istanbul and completed his education there. After 1908, he served as the Hejaz representative in the Ottoman Chamber of Deputies. During a visit to Hejaz, he stopped by Egypt and held some secret meetings here with Lord Kitchener, the British consul general in Egypt, and Ronald Storrs before World War I. He became a member of the Arab Unity Society founded in Cairo by Rashid Rida, who supported the cause of nationalist Arabs who rebelled against the Ottomans. He acted as an intermediary between his father, Sharif Hussein, and the British in the uprising movement they prepared against the Ottomans. Upon the start of the uprising in Mecca on June 10, 1916, he also joined the movement and never returned to Istanbul. At the Iraq Congress held in Damascus on March 8, 1920, it was decided that he would be the king of Iraq and his brother Faisal would be the king of Syria. However, after the French removed his brother Faisal, who was declared king of Syria, from Damascus, Faisal was brought to the Iraqi throne, and Abdullah was brought as the emir to the head of the National Arab Government, which was decided to be established in Transjordan, which was kept separate from Palestine under the British mandate... When Britain recognized Transjordan as an independent state on May 22, 1946, Abdullah became the head of the newly established state with the title of King of Jordan. Abdullah b. Hussein managed the external contacts and especially the meetings with the British in the movement started by his father, Sharif Hussein. He explained these activities in all their details in his memoirs titled Mudhakkirati."

In "Grokipedia-Wikipedia," created by artificial intelligence, it is also stated that this decoration, determined in 1949 by King Abdullah I of Jordan, was given to honor his father, Sharif Hussein bin Ali, who led the Arab revolt against the Ottoman administration during World War I and established the Hashemite rule in Jordan.

THE MAN WHO SAVED THE DESERT TIGER FAHREDDIN PASHA

Finally, let us look at how Hussein bin Ali is described in the section titled "The Great Arab Revolt" on the website of the Kingdom of Jordan. It says;

"King Ali bin Hussein was born in Mecca in 1880. He went to Istanbul with his father and stayed there. Later, when his father, Sharif Hussein, became the Emir of Hejaz, he returned to Hejaz. He helped his father with his responsibilities and acted on his behalf in his absence. When the Great Arab Revolt broke out, Prince Ali took the lead of the army. After Sharif Hussein was declared the Arab leader, Prince Ali was brought to the head of the state's first government. After the end of the First World War, the leader of the Turkish army, Fahri Pasha (Fahreddin Pasha), left Medina after being besieged by the rebel armies for three years. He surrendered himself to Prince Ali, and Prince Ali entered the city and hung the Arab flag. His father also appointed him as Emir."

Let us end with this note:

When Abdullah bin Zayed, who is still the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, shared a tweet in 2017 calling Fahreddin Pasha, the hero of the Defense of Medina, a "thief," Erdoğan reacted as follows after describing the Defense of Medina as "an exemplary event showing that the symbols of Islam and the Prophet must be protected under any circumstances":

"While Fahreddin Pasha was conducting the Defense of Medina, oh you poor soul who slanders us, where were your ancestors? Why did Fahreddin Pasha come all the way from Istanbul for the Defense of Medina? He came to protect those holy lands against those who came to occupy them. Well, where were your ancestors? The work Fahreddin Pasha did in Medina, which he defended for 2 years and 7 months, the determined stance he showed, and the resistance he displayed until the last moment are truly worthy of appreciation. These poor souls, who are in such a delusion that they can shamelessly and brazenly say 'Erdoğan's ancestors stole the holy relics from there and brought them to Istanbul,' this is not called 'stealing,' on the contrary, it is protecting them from those who came to invade and occupy those places, in the name of what? In the name of becoming a martyr. During the time he was in Medina, which was besieged by some Arab tribes that the famous British agent Lawrence turned against the Ottomans with a thousand promises, Fahreddin Pasha did not only conduct a defense, he also governed the city with justice. Upon the tightening of the British siege in the Hejaz region, the Pasha sent the holy relics belonging to our Prophet to Istanbul with a protection force of 2 thousand people, which constituted an important part of his army. Thus, he prevented the holy relics from falling into the hands of the occupying forces and potentially becoming exhibition material in magnificent museums in European cities... Unfortunately, those who are in the lands near there are shamelessly and brazenly slandering us. First, know your place. So, you have not known this nation. You have not known Erdoğan either, and you have not known Erdoğan's ancestors at all. But we know very well what kind of absurdities you are in right now."

One question: Was it not known that the person in whose name the decoration was given was the person who besieged Fahreddin Pasha?!
