The status of the terrorist leader: Whose word will prevail?!

“Terror-Free Turkey” project is emphasized as being a “state policy”; while the head of state, Erdoğan, said all the way from America, “The organization must lay down its arms with all its elements, and the illegal structure must be liquidated,” he also stated that they are “closely following the attempts of the PKK/PJAK in Iran to take advantage of the emerging conditions.” In other words, he gave the message that neither the PKK nor PJAK have laid down their arms.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also stated a short while ago, even though more than 1 year has passed, that “concrete steps regarding the laying down of arms have not been taken so far.”

In contrast, the coordinator of the opening process in Parliament, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Numan Kurtulmuş, both made the statement, “Everything is running like clockwork. Thank God, may God not let it be spoiled,” and expressed the wish, “I hope the organization shows as soon as possible that it has laid down its arms.” Meanwhile, he claimed that “PJAK has also ceased to be a risk for them.”

First, let us clarify this PJAK matter; they have repeatedly announced that the call of the terrorist leader Öcalan does not bind them, that they will not lay down their arms, and that they will continue their activities, but Ankara has turned a deaf ear.

Perhaps they will hear the words that DEM deputy co-chair Tayip Temel uttered just six days ago, calling them “the warning in chairman Öcalan’s latest message.”

According to what Temel said, Öcalan stated, “If the Iranian regime does not stop its attacks on the Kurdistan region and does not end its execution policy, the Kurds have the right to respond to the reactionary Mullah regime in a very harsh manner.”

The March of the “Defeated” PKK on the “Blessed Path”

Turkey’s last Prime Minister and Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, Binali Yıldırım, explained at the beginning of this month in his hometown of Erzincan that “the terrorist organization has now thrown in the towel,” and that “it has decided to lay down its arms for this reason and the process of a terror-free Turkey has begun.”

Ismet Büyükataman, the Secretary General of the MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, who is the pioneer of the opening, described the process as a “blessed path” and said, “There is no turning back.”

We mentioned above that TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş said, “Everything is running like clockwork.” Let us underline one more thing that Kurtulmuş said while explaining the “three responsibilities falling to the Parliament in the new phase.”

They will also work on these issues “in case there are new legal regulations that will be needed”!..

I wonder what these new “legal regulations” that will be needed might be?!

Education in the Mother Tongue?

The spokesperson for the opening at the Palace, Deputy Chairman of the Legal Policies Board Mehmet Uçum, while reporting that “in these days when the terror-free Turkey process is about to reach its destination, the foundations of the new constitution will certainly be laid,” promised, “In the new constitution, the Turkish Nation, Turkish citizenship, Turkish as the official language and the only compulsory language of education, the republic, the unitary structure, secularism, and the democratic state of law are red lines... A discussion of a different regulation on these matters is unacceptable.”

However, no one spoke up when DEM member Sırrı Sakık demanded that the expressions written on the mountains, “Turk, pride, work, trust,” “How happy is the one who says I am a Turk,” and “Everything is for the motherland,” be “removed as soon as possible,” claiming they “evoke racism.”

September 26 was Turkish Language Day. While Erdoğan published a four-line congratulatory message, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli emphasized the following:

“Our Turkish language is not just a means of communication and understanding; it is also one of our fundamental values that makes us a nation and is fed by our history and cultural accumulation... Our Turkish language is a powerful binder of a thousand-year brotherhood, common memory, and shared ideals. Therefore, protecting the Turkish language is not only about protecting the past, but also about securing our future.”

So, what is the situation and trend on the front of the “fellow travelers” in the opening, the DEM?

On the day the new academic year began, the Language, Culture and Art Commission announced that “securing the right to education in the mother tongue with legal and constitutional guarantees is one of the very important steps of peace and democratic transformation,” and invited “administrative and civil institutions, especially the TBMM, and the entire society to take historical responsibility for the recognition of the right to education in the mother tongue.”

The co-spokesperson of the same commission, Heval Dilbahar, argued that “the Republic was built on the understanding of one state, one flag, one language, one anthem,” but that “as a result of the Kurdish people’s struggle for freedom, the policies of denial, assimilation, prohibition, and elimination have been broken,” and claimed that Kurdish education from kindergarten to university is possible and that if the state shows good will, the transition to Kurdish education could be made in 2-3 years.

DEM co-chair Tuncer Bakırhan claimed that “the Kurdish issue and the right to mother tongue are being discussed and will be discussed at the table,” and said, “If we can successfully conclude this first phase, we will talk about the demands for which we have paid a price in the second phase.”

The “Mesopotamia Psychology Congress,” organized by the “Mesopotamia Psychologists Association” (DER-MEZ) in Diyarbakır on September 25-27, was presented as “almost all of its papers were in Kurdish” and “For the first time, we are holding a congress in our own language.”

Status for the Terrorist Leader?

In addition to Bahçeli, one of the constant agenda items of the PKK-DEM is the status of the terrorist leader in Imralı.

Presidential Legal Policies Board Chairman Mehmet Uçum announced that the terrorist leader would serve in the “disarmament and strategic coordination sub-commission,” but this task did not satisfy the PKK-DEM.

First, DEM spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan described the board in question as the “disarmament and democratic politics board” and said that the terrorist leader “should take part in this board as a coordinator and personally coordinate the transition from the disarmament process to politics.”

Then, DEM sources announced that it is expected that the terrorist leader will not be a member of the sub-board but a coordinator, and that he will form a sub-board under himself, and that some politicians, political actors, and Kurdish opinion leaders will take part in this board.

The “National Solidarity and Integration Coordination Board,” to which the four sub-commissions are attached, held its second meeting the day before under the chairmanship of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. One of the agenda items of the Board was “the formation, duties, and areas of authority of the sub-commissions”; it was reported that this was decided upon.

However, it was not announced who would serve in what position. It seems that the negotiations regarding the “duty and status” of the terrorist leader are continuing.

As is known; the Board includes the Ministers of Justice, Foreign Affairs, Interior, National Defense, as well as the Presidential Secretary General, the MİT President, and the MGK Secretary General.

Can you imagine the terrorist leader, who is responsible for the deaths of 40 thousand of our people, serving on that board together with, for example, the Minister of National Defense or the Interior?

Fortunately, Bese Hozat, the co-chair of the so-called KCK Executive Council, who was the lead actor in the PKK’s 30-kebab show, stated that the terrorist leader did not take part in the sub-commission but that such a perception was created, and said that they wanted a separate status for the terrorist leader, which is the “peace and democratic society process coordination” that needs to be “legally guaranteed.”

It sounds a lot like the proposal Bahçeli made months ago, “let him be given the status of peace process and politicization coordination,” doesn’t it?

Is it the terrorist leader sitting at the same table with big ministers, or such a status?.. Are they trying to make us accept the fever by showing us death, or what is it?

Let’s see whose word will prevail; the Palace’s spokesperson Mehmet Uçum’s, or the MHP-DEM-PKK’s?!
