What a 'Special' contradiction!..

While the government was calling the PKK law, which was approved by the terrorist leader in İmralı before the members of parliament, a "Turkey model" prepared "without a third eye," we persistently tried to explain that this was a repetition and continuation of previous openings led by the US and figures like David L. Phillips. As that law was being debated the other day, an interesting dialogue took place in the lobby between Deva Party Chairman Ali Babacan and AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala.

Babacan recalled that 15 years ago he was Deputy Prime Minister and Efkan Ala was the Undersecretary to the Prime Minister, saying, "We have been rolling along from that day to this."

Efkan Ala, who has been involved in the "solution process" not only during his time as Undersecretary to the Prime Minister but also as Interior Minister during the famous "Dolmabahçe consensus," and even since his time as Governor of Diyarbakır, gave the example of a "bamboo tree," responding, "You water it for years and it is not visible, but it grows all at once. That is why I compare it to a bamboo tree. Nothing goes to waste."

Yes, in 15 years of watering, they have managed to turn the murderer of 40 thousand people into a "founding leader" and a "coordinator for peace and politicization"...

Whether it was the rush to go on holiday or the effort not to keep the terrorist leader waiting any longer, it is unknown; they had the law he approved passed by the Gazi Assembly with a record vote outside of the Parliament's normal working hours and had them ululate...

And that day was the anniversary of the Treaty of Sèvres. When this was pointed out, the Presidential Communications Directorate stated that "the Turkish Grand National Assembly's work schedule is carried out within the framework of constitutional procedures and legislative processes," and declared, "Attempting to associate these processes with malicious symbolic pairings is a clear provocation aimed at misleading the public and the unwavering integration of society."

Yesterday, some pens from the pro-government media also considered the law coinciding with the day of Sèvres a "coincidence."

Some writers, such as Ahmet Hakan, whom Erdoğan said "is doing what is necessary from his corner," claimed that the PKK law was a "law to tear up and throw away Sèvres once and for all, to trample on Sèvres, and to drive the imperialists who might dare to dream of Sèvres crazy," and described pointing out this "coincidence" as "a very consciously committed disgrace, abomination, and rudeness."

Even if the highest level of the state remembered the anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne a day late, at least someone should have known about August 10, right? Furthermore, this had been written and drawn days in advance, and while IYI Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu was shouting at the top of his lungs, and former İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, who was arrested on charges of cooperative corruption, had very interestingly named the PKK law the "August 10 Framework Law" a day in advance, couldn't the debate on the law have been left to the next day?

It seems they did not care about the nation's sensitivity regarding Sèvres!..

Our 7,500 Martyrs Were Trampled

Moving past that. The debates on the law were completed in 18 hours in the Justice Commission and 12 hours in the General Assembly.

However, upon the AKP's proposal, it had been decided that the Parliament would continue its work on Tuesday and Wednesday with the expectation that the debates might be prolonged. At the very least, in order for it not to happen on the anniversary of Sèvres, the adoption of the law could well have been left until yesterday.

But they were in such a hurry that IYI Party's Selçuk Türkoğlu was not even allowed to read the names of our 7,500 martyrs to enter a "dissenting opinion" on their behalf.

IYI Party Chairman Dervişoğlu had said, "They cannot build a 'numbered republic,' a new republic, without trampling on our corpses." Even if this law, which is the "root" of the "numbered republic," was passed without trampling on the corpses of the IYI Party members, unfortunately, our 7,500 martyrs were trampled!..

August 10 was also the 111th anniversary of the Victory of Anafartalar. TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, the architect of the PKK law in Parliament, said in a message he published on this occasion, "On the 111th anniversary of the Victory of Anafartalar, which shattered the imperialists' dreams of passing through Çanakkale, I respectfully commemorate all our heroes, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, our dear martyrs, and our veterans."!..

And what a coincidence that the terrorist leader's nephew, Ömer Öcalan, who is a Şanlıurfa MP, shared the family photo they took in İmralı back on October 31, 2025, on the very day that law was being debated, isn't that something?!

For Those Whose Compass is the Terrorist Leader

The government, its partners, and their media still claim that the process is not a "bargaining, give-and-take" process.

If so, why did TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş himself emphasize the record vote for its adoption, saying, "Such a consensus does not emerge even in constitutional votes," and added, "From now on, the process will work like clockwork."?

Is what will "work like clockwork" the claim by DEM co-chair Tuncer Bakırhan, which he now voices in the presence of the Gazi Assembly with the assertion that "This legislative proposal is a compass for the country to move in a new direction," that "the 1921 constitution... the Kurdish existence that was denied 100 years ago... meeting with the law through this 'root law'... the fact that Kurds are spread across four countries... the resolution of the Kurdish issue through politics and negotiation... the initiation of the reconstruction process starting in October... that demands for mother tongue, equal citizenship, and local democracy are indispensable to the process... that the foundation was laid with this law, and after the floors and rooms are built, finally the roof of the democratic Republic of Turkey will be built"?!

Saying "No" Was a Duty Before It Was a "Right"

Let's come to Özgür Özel, who shocked everyone with his original "genius formula."

As the New Party, they wrote pages of additional opinions against the PKK law and listed their "what ifs"...

Özgür Özel also tore the law to pieces in terms of its content, the way it was prepared, and the regulations regarding its implementation. He explained that the AKP never truly wanted a solution to this issue, that Erdoğan's only concern was his own seat, that they did not trust the sincerity and intentions of the government, and that he understood the nation's suspicions of "will this process turn into a constitutional bargain that paves the way for Erdoğan's re-candidacy?" and saw the existing dangers.

Then, emphasizing that they had the most right to say "no" to this law, he said, "The NEW Party will not put its own right before the nation's right to peace... We will not stand in the way of peace so that no more martyrs come, so that none of our children become veterans, so that fire does not fall into poor homes... Today, a door is being opened for the arms chapter to close. We will not be the side that closes that door."

Ultimately, he announced that he and his party executives would say "yes" to the law, while the MPs could cast a "no" vote "according to the views of their constituents."

It is clear what the PKK wants and that the "arms chapter will not close" until those demands are met; but let us also point out these dire contradictions of Özgür Özel.

On one hand, he spoke as follows:

"We are here today to talk about the Kurdish issue. The Kurdish issue is not just a terror issue, not just a security issue. It is not at all just an issue of an organization laying down its arms. It is an issue of equal citizenship, the rule of law, democratic representation, free politics, and living together. It is an issue of everyone being able to feel like an equal citizen of this country with their own identity, language, culture, and belief."

In short, just like the terrorist leader, the PKK, and the DEM, he said "there is a Kurdish issue" and talked about "equal citizenship and mother tongue," while on the other hand, he said:

"Our red lines are clear. Atatürk, the Treaty of Lausanne, our unitary state structure, the indivisible integrity of our country and nation, and the fundamental characteristics of the Republic guaranteed by the constitution. These cannot be made a subject of discussion or bargaining, we will never allow this. We see the democratic resolution of the Kurdish issue not against these principles, but as their guarantee."

How much "equal citizenship, education in the mother tongue, and autonomy for local governments," which were also included in the party program, align with the fundamental characteristics of the Republic and Lausanne, and how our "indivisible integrity and unitary state structure" will be protected with these, is anyone's guess!..

If You Would Disclose That Record

This is how they confused the nation's mind once again.

You remember; when they emerged as the first party from the 2024 municipal elections, Özgür Özel immediately entered into a "softening, normalization" process with Erdoğan.

We don't know what they talked about. However, it was announced that during the meeting, "one of Erdoğan's main agenda items was the new constitution" and that he pointed to "Turkey's need for a civil constitution suitable for the conditions of the day," while Özel gave the message that "he primarily wants the current constitution to be implemented and that one cannot sit at the new constitution table without fulfilling its requirements."

In the short statement he made regarding the meeting, Özel emphasized that this was "an important milestone for Turkish democracy" and after pointing out that "periods when politicians do not shake hands have always been a disaster for democracy," he settled for saying that they would follow in the coming days, weeks, and months how their conversations and discussions with Erdoğan resulted in this sense.

We will come to this regarding that meeting, the "results" of which we have seen and continue to see:

As is known, AKP Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş and Erdoğan's Chief of Staff Hasan Doğan, and Namık Tan on Özgür Özel's side, kept a record.

I wonder if Özgür Özel would consider disclosing this record so that the nation's mind can be cleared and they can understand what is going on?!
