The bitter truth: It is not the 'ballot-box monarchy' but the Republicans who are collapsing
They cannot stop. These tests—meaning detentions, arrests, convictions, and so on—will continue like this. They cannot stop.
Until when, you ask?
No one knows.
They don't know either.
The 'reasonable opposition' and the 'Abdülhamid II-style opposition' have no idea. This is what a 'ballot-box monarchy' and its opposition look like.
The reasonable opposition, or the establishment opposition, is truly oblivious to everything. They are just drifting along. They think that by clinging to the ballot box they will find relief, but in the meantime, they get beaten every single day. Or rather, it is not the protected opposition (Özgür 'Özal', the 'butlancılar' [those who seek to stall], and their soulmates among every type of ethnicist) that gets beaten, but those who believe in them. Anyone looking at the media can see it. The country is on an endless journey toward the bottom. They do not want to accept that the old regime is gone with the wind. That is why they think that by crying out when they are beaten, they are performing opposition and paving their own way to power. They do not see that this country is finished.
But it is our poor people who face the real violence, and a large portion of them still seek a solution in this well-off establishment opposition. They have tagged along behind them. The Palace, of course, is rubbing its hands: It is exactly what the blind man wanted—one eye, and God gave him two... It is not as if they would turn it down...
REASONABLE AND ACCEPTABLE OPPOSITION
The government, or more accurately, the 'presidency of the Abdülhamid II regime'knows that it must constantly test society and the reasonable opposition. We could also call it a 'policy of keeping the devil in torment.' For this policy to succeed, those being beaten must constantly dream of the ballot box. They think that when their votes surpass the Reis Party, they will find a cure for Turkey's troubles.
This is how a quarter-century of tyranny continues. Why shouldn't such a regime last 50 years?
The reasonable opposition, which dreams of nothing but ballot boxes and parliament—and thus a 'parliamentary regime'—must get used to these beatings and even torture. That is what is being said.
For these tests—the daily rituals of being beaten (detentions, arrests, etc.)—to diminish or be phased out, this opposition must finally see the truth and realize that there is no way out within the Islamist/Turkist/Kurdish circle of games, which is nurtured by these expectations of a liberal paradise.
Will they see it? Unlikely.
For those who dream of ballot boxes, votes, and parliamentary seats, and who are willing to sell any principle for them, is there really a better future they deserve?
What does it matter if you enter parliament or not? What problem of the people will you be able to solve? It won't be their children, but yours, who will start eating the cream of exploitation; but doesn't the poor public see this? As the people nurse their wounds, aren't they saying, 'At least let me not lose what I have; these new ones cannot be trusted, and we might end up having to feed those new hungry mouths'? That is exactly what happens.
The issue is the reasonable opposition that thinks all these destroyed institutions, organizations, and rules still exist. It is an opposition that does not want to see that we are in a new regime, that the republic has been replaced by a ballot-box monarchy, and that we have been trapped within this iron circle for many years. This includes the 'leftists' who have been struck by liberalism. All of them together are a blessing the Palace could only dream of. Well, the Palace is doing its part: with the stick and—in the past—the carrot, it brings those playing at being opposition into line.
We don't call it the 'Abdülhamid II regime' or 'ballot-box monarchy' for nothing.
STREETS, WORKPLACES, SCHOOLS, AND EVERYWHERE
Let us give credit where it is due: A quarter-century of an 'anti-enlightenment' Islamist political power cannot be compared to any other government in our republican history. Or rather, we can compare them, but in the end, this tyranny is a result; we see that: its roots lie in the Abdülhamid, Menderes/Bayar, Nationalist Front, and Kenan Evren/Turgut Özal governments of the last century. However, the destruction wrought by this quarter-century of AKP-Reis rule was not granted to any of the previous ones.
This cadre will deliver the final blow to this country. We are talking about disintegration. If things continue this way, there will be no Turkey left as we know it... It is certain, we are being pushed toward that. But there is something else more important than this.
Let us be clear: If the opposition is to consist of the New Party/CHP/DEM and their hangers-on like TİP, EMEP, etc., there is no way to stop this trend.
Perhaps we will explain what we mean with more precise words in the future. For now, this: Just as there is no revolutionary movement without revolutionary theory, there can be no 'transcendent republican movement' for a new republic without 'transcendent republican theory.'
The ballot box only carries meaning if it contains nearly 1 million 'communist-identified republican votes', because of those votes.
Why?
Because only then will the oligarchy and the Turkish/Kurdish wealthy be gripped by great fear.
Every ballot box that does not contain a republican energy that responds to and exceeds the search for more than half a million votes from unyielding communists brings Turkey a little closer to its great catastrophe. Haven't the Islamists, just like in 1930s Europe, already succeeded in turning the ballot box into a mere validation mechanism?
Remembering Gezi and/but transcending it seems to be the only solution.
The summary of the summary: The way to disable the ballot-box monarchy is to define our transcendent republic in detail, to propagate it, and to be able to steer people away from the bait of the reasonable/acceptable opposition.
Otherwise, it's all over.
