Today, communication science is undergoing significant changes in parallel with the rapid evolution of the digital world. In this context, language model technologies like ChatGPT are creating various effects in the field of communication. The role of ChatGPT, and of course its subsequent counterparts, in communication stands out by facilitating information transfer and enriching interaction processes. Its ability to provide instant responses, multi-language support, and access to vast information sources are also prominent features. On the other hand, the automated nature of this technology can often standardize human interaction and reduce emotional richness. Misunderstandings, biases, or a lack of the emotional dimension of language may occur. These situations can be counted among the harmful effects on communication. ChatGPT can transform communication practice, especially by accelerating information sharing and facilitating global communication. However, as I mentioned above, it should be used with caution because it reduces the human element and limits emotional intelligence. The future effects of this technology must be evaluated alongside ethical responsibilities and social dynamics. In other words, as with every newly developed technology, it is important to be aware of the potential negative effects of ChatGPT and its counterparts and to be a conscious user. I find it useful to list and remind you of these potential negative effects again:
