12-year-old Bade Uygun: 'I want to follow in Mozart's footsteps'
12-year-old Bade Uygun, who won first place in her category at the Grand Prize Virtuoso international music competition held in Vienna, Austria, with participants from 72 countries, said, "I want to follow in Mozart's footsteps; I would be very happy if I could achieve that."
In Antalya, 7th-grade student Bade Uygun began attending piano lessons at the age of 5.
Although she initially struggled to play the notes, Uygun began playing compositions after memorizing the notes through long efforts.
SHE CAME IN FIRST
Over time, playing the piano became a passion for Uygun, and she won first place at the Grand Prize Virtuoso international music competition held in Vienna, Austria, with participants from 72 countries. While continuing her education, Uygun is also working hard on the piano and will participate in the competitions to be held in Barcelona on July 25.
Emphasizing that she is happy to have achieved first place despite it being her first international competition, Uygun said:
"I am proud to bring this award to Turkey. I am preparing for Barcelona. I am doing my best to win awards and I am ambitious. I want to participate in all competitions and win the awards. I want to follow in Mozart's footsteps; I would be very happy if I could achieve that. I also want to participate in some competitions with Turkish works. Turkish works add a different emotion."
'STUDYING IS MORE PRODUCTIVE'
Stating that she does not neglect her education and is working hard for the LGS (High School Entrance Exam) despite being in the 7th grade, Uygun said, "The piano is my greatest passion. Whenever I am sad, I sit at the piano and playing it makes me happy. After playing the piano, the lessons I study are more productive. It gives me great motivation. It is also reflected in my success in my classes."
Piano and violin teacher Serenat Sahabi also explained that they met Bade when she was very young and that they have achieved great success in a short time.
Expressing that her student winning the award made her proud, Sahabi said, "Now we are preparing for the music competitions to be held in Barcelona. We have entered an intensive training period and I expect her to return with an award. Bade expresses her emotions beautifully and uses piano technique well."
