The 35th Ankara Film Festival Honorary Awards have been announced!

The Honorary Awards for the 35th Ankara Film Festival, which will be organized by the World Mass Media Research Foundation between November 7 and 15, have been announced. The Honorary Awards will be presented to their recipients at the festival's opening ceremony on November 7.

It has been announced that the honorary awards of the 35th Ankara Film Festival will be given to Müjdat Gezen, Şefika Kutluer, and Kurtuluş Özyazıcı this year. The "Foundation Special Award," which will be presented for the third time this year at the 35th Ankara Film Festival, will go to Selda Taşkın, who has worked as a director, producer, and editor on advertising, film, and animation projects, and to the successful actor Berkay Ateş, who has appeared in various theater plays and feature films.

THE AZIZ NESIN LABOR AWARD GOES TO MÜJDAT GEZEN!

It was announced that the Board of Directors of the World Mass Media Research Foundation, which organizes the Film Festival, has decided to present the Aziz Nesin Labor Award to the artist Müjdat Gezen. In the statement made by the Foundation, it was emphasized that Gezen was deemed worthy of this award because he is "a magnificent actor who has won the appreciation of the audience for many years with his characters that masterfully blend humor, drama, and social criticism," as well as for "making art a lifestyle and leaving deep marks on Turkey's cultural memory with a life dedicated to the stage and screen."

THE ART PLANE TREE AWARD GOES TO ŞEFİKA KUTLUER

The reason for presenting the Art Plane Tree Award to "State Flute Soloist" Şefika Kutluer, known in the music world as the "Magic Flute," was stated as "developing a versatile language of expression with the flute, becoming a source of inspiration not only with music but also with her perspective on art, turning the music festival she organizes in her own name into an international art event, and gaining a huge fan base worldwide with her music."

THE MASS MEDIA AWARD WILL BE GIVEN TO KURTULUŞ ÖZYAZICI

The reason for presenting the Mass Media Award to producer Kurtuluş Özyazıcı was expressed as "not only reflecting his experiences in the documentary, educational-cultural, and music programs he prepared at Ankara Radio as a producer, but also passing them on to the radio broadcasters he trained, contributing to the Ankara Film Festival by working as an editor and program selector, and producing lasting knowledge for the art of cinema with his film writings."

FOUNDATION SPECIAL AWARD: SELDA TAŞKIN AND BERKAY ATEŞ

The practice initiated by the World Mass Media Research Foundation two years ago, "presenting the Foundation Special Award to names who make a difference with their work in their field, follow their own path, and produce," continues.

This year, the first of the Foundation Special Awards will be given to Selda Taşkın, who worked in visual production and organization at cultural and artistic institutions such as Nisi Masa (European Network of Young Cinema) during her university education, started working as a director, producer, and editor in advertising, film, and animation projects after founding the company Punctum Creative Productions in 2009, was selected for Berlinale Talents within the scope of the 70th Berlin Film Festival, and has been deemed worthy of many awards.

The second of the Foundation Special Awards this year will be given to actor Berkay Ateş, who won the Promising Young Actor Award at the 22nd Golden Boll Film Festival for his character Ahmet in the film Abluka (Frenzy), was deemed worthy of the Best Actor Award at the 30th Ankara Film Festival for his character Zakir in the film Görülmüştür (Passed by), turned to cinema after appearing in various theater plays, and brought to life the characters of the Rebel in the film Yarım Kalan Mucize (Unfinished Miracle) and Ishak in the film Karanlık Gece (Dark Night).
