74th Berlin Film Festival begins: Turkish cinema to be promoted

Within the scope of the festival, Turkish cinema will be promoted at the Turkey stand, which is organized by the Boğaziçi Culture and Arts Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The festival, whose jury members include director Brady Corbet, Hong Kong filmmaker Ann Hui, Spanish director Albert Serra, Italian actress Jasmine Trinca, and Ukrainian writer Oksana Zabuzhko, will continue until February 25.

PROJECTS TO BE SHOWCASED

At the Turkey stand during the event, feature films, short films, animations, and documentaries that are either completed or in the project/development stage will be showcased in the international arena.

Opportunities for co-productions and projects, which have become significant in the film industry for reasons such as knowledge and technology transfer, access to local funding sources, the creation of potential markets, and the development of promotional activities, will be discussed at the festival.

The "Foreign Film Production Support," which came into effect with the new cinema law and allows foreign film producers to receive a refund of up to 30 percent of the amount they spend in Turkey for feature films, documentaries, and television series, will also be presented to international film producers.
