Acquittal for Mabel Matiz in 'obscenity' trial
Singer Mabel Matiz has been acquitted in the trial where he was prosecuted over his song 'Perperişan'.
Artist Mabel Matiz appeared in court today in the case opened over allegations that the lyrics of his song 'Perperişan' contained "obscenity." During the hearing held at the Istanbul 54th Criminal Court of First Instance, the prosecution had requested that Mabel Matiz be punished.
Despite the allegations, the court issued an acquittal for the famous singer, rejecting the prosecutor's request for a sentence. Thus, the criminal case initiated against Mabel Matiz has concluded.
