Adana Governor's Office had banned the Çukurova Rock Festival citing 'security and alcohol': Court issues stay of execution

The Adana Administrative Court has issued a stay of execution regarding the Adana Governor's Office's decision to ban the Çukurova Rock Festival.

The Çukurova Rock Festival was banned by the Adana Governor's Office just hours before the event was scheduled to begin. Among the reasons for the ban, the Governor's Office cited "the presence of kiosks selling alcohol around the event area and the potential for alcohol-related crimes such as sexual assault, injury, and theft."

STAY OF EXECUTION GRANTED

The Governor's Office notified the organizers of the ban on October 11. The organization company reported that following verbal discussions during the process, they reapplied with a commitment that individuals under 18 would not be admitted and that no alcohol would be sold in the area, but they received no response to their application.

Milyon Yapım, the company organizing the festival, filed a lawsuit at the Adana Administrative Court requesting the cancellation and a stay of execution of the Governor's Office's ban. The Adana Administrative Court issued a stay of execution regarding the cancellation of the festival and granted the Adana Governor's Office time to provide a defense and respond to the interim decision.

Furthermore, artists such as Ceza, Uzi, Selda Bağcan, Dedublüman, Pentagram, Gazapizm, Umut Kuzey, Güneş, Emir Can İğrek, and Manuş Baba are scheduled to perform at the festival.
