Tarık Akan, one of the unforgettable names of Turkish cinema, was commemorated with a special event held for his birthday. The commemoration for the master actor, who passed away in 2016, was attended by his children Barış Zeki Üregül, Yaşar Özgür Üregül, and Özlem Üregül, as well as figures from the art world.
Akan's close friends Müjdat Gezen and Nur Sürer were also present at the event. During the gathering, which featured emotional moments, the master artist's place in cinema and the mark he left on his friends' memories were recounted.

FRIENDS SHARED THEIR MEMORIES
Müjdat Gezen stated that being in the same frame as Tarık Akan was always special for him. Recalling that they opened the Nazım Hikmet Cultural Center together, Gezen explained that this memory left a deep mark on him.
Saying that the first word that comes to his mind when Tarık Akan is mentioned is "man," Gezen emphasized that the master actor's place could not be filled. Gezen also touched upon the inheritance disputes that sometimes come to the agenda after the passing of artists, stating that this situation continues even as generations change.

Nur Sürer, who answered questions from members of the press at the event, drew attention to Akan's importance in Turkish cinema. Sürer expressed her respect for the master actor with the words, "Leading men like him will never come to Turkish cinema again."
