South Korean music group BTS has achieved a significant record on the digital music platform Spotify. The group has become the first music group to surpass the 10 billion stream mark within a single year.
According to news from the Seoul-based Yonhap agency, which cited data from BTS's agency BigHit Music, the group has crossed a new threshold in the music industry with its annual stream count on Spotify.
It was noted that BTS's total stream count on the same platform last year was approximately 4.5 billion. Thus, there has been a remarkable increase in the group's Spotify performance in a short period.
Debuting in 2013, BTS is considered among the most recognized representatives of South Korean pop music worldwide. The group's global audience is cited as one of the factors strengthening its visibility on digital platforms.
Previously, solo artists such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Bad Bunny had reached the 10 billion stream mark on Spotify. BTS's record stands out as the first time this threshold has been crossed by a music group.
