Cansever, one of the beloved names of Arabesque music, was laid to rest in the city of Veles in North Macedonia, where she was born and raised. The artist, who had been receiving treatment for leukemia for some time, passed away at the age of 59 on Saturday, August 8, at the hospital where she was being treated in Essen, Germany.
Cansever's body was brought from Germany to North Macedonia. At the funeral ceremony held at the Gazlı Ahmet Paşa Mosque in Veles at noon, the artist's relatives accepted condolences in the mosque courtyard.

The funeral prayer was led by Fevzi Yazıcı, the imam of the mosque affiliated with the Presidency of Religious Affairs. Following the prayer, Cansever's body was taken in front of the house where she had lived for many years.
The artist's funeral, which was met with prayers from her relatives and loved ones there, was later laid to rest in the family cemetery. Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy also sent a wreath to the funeral ceremony.
