Cillian Murphy on 'Peaky Blinders': 'I'll be there'

Cillian Murphy on 'Peaky Blinders': 'I'll be there'

Cillian Murphy, who was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar for Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer', has made statements regarding Peaky Blinders.

Speaking on the BBC Radio 4 program Desert Island Discs, Murphy indicated that he would gladly return to the role of Thomas Shelby from Peaky Blinders on either the small or big screen.

Murphy said, "If there is more story to tell and if Stephen Knight delivers a script as I know he can, then I will be there. I mean, if we want to watch 50-year-old Tommy Shelby, I will be there. Let's do it."

WHO IS CILLIAN MURPHY?

Cillian Murphy was born on May 25, 1976, in the town of Douglas, Ireland. He is an Irish actor and musician. Cillian is the son of Brendan Murphy, a lawyer from Cork, and Valerie Murphy, a teacher.

Although Cillian applied to study law at University College Cork, he changed his plans due to his interest in music and theater, and enrolled at The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin to study Drama and Theatre Studies.

Starting his career as a theater actor, Cillian Murphy began performing at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin in 1996 and delivered many successful performances during this period. He later stepped into the world of television and cinema.

In 2002, he achieved international fame with the horror film "28 Days Later," directed by Danny Boyle. Thanks to his successful performance in the film, he caught the attention of Hollywood, and Cillian Murphy began an international career by taking part in larger productions.
