The debate over the inheritance and will that emerged following the passing of Kadir İnanır, one of the master figures of Turkish cinema, has grown with new statements. In a program he attended, İnanır’s nephew Levent İnanır stated that he did not believe in his uncle’s will and alleged that his assets were at the level of approximately 5 million dollars.
Following Kadir İnanır’s passing on June 26, it was announced that according to his wills, he had left all his assets to his life partner Jülide Kural. Levent İnanır, however, argued that this will was not "sound."
Clarifying the term "willpower issue" he had used previously, Levent İnanır said this was not an allegation regarding memory loss or mental health. Stating that his uncle was using heavy medication and antidepressants, İnanır expressed that being confined to a wheelchair created intense stress for Kadir İnanır.
I do not believe in that will. Because I know my uncle Kadir very well, that will is not a sound will. There is something fishy going on here.
Levent İnanır also made allegations of negligence regarding Kadir İnanır’s care process in the hospital. Claiming that in footage he took at the hospital in 2025, his uncle was able to walk with the assistance of a physiotherapist, İnanır said he could not accept his death a year later due to pneumonia.
I do not think he was well cared for. I do not accept this death; this is not a normal death.
Levent İnanır, who alleged that the inheritance is worth approximately 5 million dollars, described Kadir İnanır leaving nothing to him and some of his other nephews as "not something that would happen." İnanır also claimed that his uncle’s frog collection was missing, arguing that the items disappeared during the hospital process.
