Famous actor from Kurtlar Vadisi passes away

Actor Şekip Taşpınar, known for the characters he portrayed in television series, has passed away.

Taşpınar had reached a wide audience, particularly with his role as "Cevat Akarsu" in the series Kurtlar Vadisi.

The sad news was announced by the actor's manager, Temmuz Karikutal, via social media.

In his post, Karikutal stated, "I am deeply saddened by the loss of the valuable actor Şekip Taşpınar. We shared so much; may you rest in peace, my brother."

Mehmet Şekip Taşpınar (1969 – 2025)

Born on February 10, 1969, in Ankara, Mehmet Şekip Taşpınar began his artistic career in 1988 at the Ankara Public Actors Theater. Between 1990 and 1994, he studied theater at the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory. Following his education, he performed at the Ankara State Theater between 1995 and 1998; in 1999, he was appointed to the Adana State Theater.

Between 2000 and 2003, he contributed to the academic field by teaching acting, diction, and phonetics at the Çukurova University State Conservatory. Starting in 1988, he also worked as a voice actor for many television channels, primarily TRT.

He became known to a wide audience for his portrayal of the character "Cevat Akarsu" in the 2009 series Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu. With his work in theater, television, and cinema, he carved out a unique place for himself in Turkish performing arts.

In June 2023, he was admitted to intensive care due to an alcohol-induced coma in Muğla. After a long health struggle, he passed away on July 2, 2025, at the age of 56.

Remembered for his contributions to art and education, Taşpınar remains in memory as one of the prolific names of Turkish theater.
