Famous director Roger Corman has passed away
Oscar-winning director Roger Corman, known for films such as 'The Silence of the Lambs', 'Death Race', and 'The Godfather Part II', has passed away at the age of 98.
Master director and producer Roger Corman has passed away.
It was reported that Corman died at his home in Santa Monica on Thursday, May 9.
Corman's death was announced by his daughter, Catherine Corman.
Catherine Corman said the following regarding her father's death:
"My father was generous, open-hearted, and kind to everyone who knew him. When asked how he wanted to be remembered, he said, 'I was a filmmaker, just that.'"
The director also helped launch the careers of other directors and actors in Hollywood, such as Martin Scorsese, James Cameron, Francis Ford Coppola, Jack Nicholson, Bruce Dern, and Robert De Niro.
The master director was awarded the 'Academy Honorary Award' in 2009 for his support of films and filmmakers.
