The famous door from the 1997 James Cameron film Titanic, which won 11 Oscars, was sold for 718 thousand dollars (23 million TL) at an auction held in the USA.
Other items put up for sale by the auction house Heritage Auctions include props used in the Indiana Jones series, the axe used in the film The Shining, and the Spider-Man costume from the film Spider-Man 3.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In the film, after the ship sank, the scene where the character Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) helps his lover Rose (Kate Winslet) onto a door that remained afloat, only to lose his own life, had also become a topic of discussion.
While many people argued that DiCaprio could also have climbed onto the door and survived, Kate Winslet had made a statement regarding the matter.
Winslet said, "Jack could have fit on the door, but it would not have remained buoyant," and added:
“You are hearing it here for the first time, yes, Jack could have fit on that door, but they would have sunk.”
