Fantastic Four movie script to be rewritten
The Fantastic Four movie script is being rewritten. Marvel management has decided to revise the production with new writers before filming begins.
Fantastic Four movie script is being rewritten once again. The long-awaited adaptation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is facing another hurdle due to reports suggesting that the script is undergoing a major revision before filming begins.
Filming for the superhero movie, which is scheduled for release in 2025, has not yet started. According to recent reports, it was said that filming would begin in early May of this year. However, according to industry insiders Daniel Richtman and rDCULeaks, Marvel Studios is not satisfied with the current script and has hired new writers for a comprehensive overhaul.
COMPREHENSIVE REVISION
The studio appears determined to ensure the script is perfectly aligned with the comic book versions and its own universe before starting the production process. Reports indicate that the rewrites are ongoing, and Richtman suggests that the revised script will be finalized "within a month." It is also noteworthy that this is not the first time the Fantastic Four script has undergone changes, as it had already been revised twice before this latest update.
The reboot project, which has been in development for a long time, first tasked Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer with writing the script in early 2022. By March 2023, Marvel hired Josh Friedman, known for Avatar: The Way of Water, to rewrite the script. The latest rewrites raise the possibility that the film's production start date could face further delays.
The Fantastic Four adventure is planned to be part of the MCU's Multiverse, which is creating high expectations among fans. Details remain a mystery due to Marvel's approach to secrecy. The film, which was initially planned to be directed by Jon Watts, will be directed by Matt Shakman. Kevin Feige is producing the film. However, official confirmations regarding most of the cast remain uncertain.
Although there have been reports that Pedro Pascal from The Last of Us will take on the role of Mr. Fantastic and Vanessa Kirby from The Crown will play the Invisible Woman, there has still been no official confirmation on this matter. It is said that Joseph Quinn from Stranger Things is the top choice for Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach from The Bear has been cast as Ben Grimm/The Thing. However, the actors are hesitant to provide any answers when asked about their roles.
SCRIPT UNDERGOING REVISION
The first adaptation of Fantastic Four was planned in 1994 but was never released. This was followed by Tim Story's versions in 2005 and 2007. Josh Trank's reboot hit screens in 2015. The current reboot is set to arrive in theaters on May 2, 2025, after several delays. Nevertheless, recent claims suggest that this date could change once again.
