Funeral arrangements for actor Ahmet Uğurlu announced

Master of Turkish cinema and theater Ahmet Uğurlu (71) has passed away.

The death of Uğurlu, who became widely known for his role as Mahsun in the film 'Somersault in a Coffin', has left his family as well as the art and political communities in mourning.

Ahmet Uğurlu will be laid to rest tomorrow (May 31, 2024) at the Anadolu Hisarı Cemetery following the noon prayer at Şakirin Mosque.

WHO IS AHMET UĞURLU

Born in Konya in 1952, Ahmet Uğurlu graduated from the Ankara State Conservatory, Department of Theater. Starting his artistic career at the State Theaters, Uğurlu built a successful career by performing in various plays there for 13 years.

In addition to theater, the artist took on significant roles in the world of cinema, beginning his film career with the movie "Mine".

Ahmet Uğurlu achieved a major breakthrough with the character 'Mahsun' in the film "Somersault in a Coffin", directed by Derviş Zaim, and won numerous awards. Throughout his career, he appeared in many series and films such as Faint Sound, Avcı, Memleket Meselesi, Döngel Kârhanesi, Yol Ayrımı, and Behzat Ç.

Having won the hearts of audiences with his performances, Uğurlu became an artist who left a mark on the world of Turkish cinema and theater.

One of Uğurlu's most well-known performances, the film "Somersault in a Coffin", brought him many awards and took its place among the important works of Turkish cinema.

Ahmet Uğurlu was deemed worthy of countless awards for the outstanding performances he displayed throughout his artistic career.
