Kemal Sunal's legendary film 'Zübük' is being remade: His son Ali Sunal will take the lead role

The famous actor made statements regarding the remake of his father Kemal Sunal's unforgettable film Zübük, which will be directed by Ezel Akay, and the 'Zübükzade' character he will portray.

According to the report in Habertürk, Ali Sunal stated, "Yes, it is true. I hope it can be brought to life. If it happens, such a situation will occur."

In response to the question "Are you excited?", Sunal replied, "How could I not be? It is a wonderful thing. My excitement is immense. At the same time, I am very curious about a Zübük that will come to life in Ezel Akay's fairy-tale world. To those who ask, 'I wonder how it will be?', my answer is: I am very ready. I hope we can bring it to life."

ABOUT THE FILM ZÜBÜK

Adapted for the cinema from Aziz Nesin's novel of the same name, directed by Kartal Tibet and written by Atıf Yılmaz, the film follows Member of Parliament İbrahim Zübükzade (Kemal Sunal), a politician who has been expelled from his profession. Journalist Yaşar (Metin Serezli) wants to learn the life story of Zübükzade for a series of articles he intends to publish. The villagers he meets in the village of Gülören, where he travels, remember Zübükzade with hatred.

According to the information Yaşar receives from the villagers, Zübük began his business life as a clerk in an office and became rich in a short time through bribes. After his true colors were revealed and he was fired, Zübük joined the Support Party and rose to the position of branch president through sycophancy.

He deceives Yektane (Nevra Serezli), the daughter of Kadir Ağa (Kadir Savun) from the opposition party, with the promise of marriage and gets involved with her. Zübük pits everyone, whether party members or not, against each other.

In the end, the public practically begs him to become the mayor. Fending off the conspiracies set against him, Zübük gets himself elected as a member of parliament.
