The "Göbeklitepe: The Mystery of a Sacred Place" exhibition, currently on display at the Colosseum in Rome, Italy, has been met with intense interest since its opening on October 24, 2024. To date, the exhibition has been visited by 5 million people.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated in a social media post that they have brought the history of Göbeklitepe to life in the heart of Rome. Ersoy said, "Göbeklitepe, the zero point of civilization, is meeting the world at the Colosseum. The exhibition has hosted 5 million visitors since it opened. The 11,000-year-old mystery of Göbeklitepe, a UNESCO World Heritage site, continues to fascinate visitors with replicas of monumental pillars and virtual tours."

THE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF GÖBEKLİTEPE

Included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2018, Göbeklitepe is considered a significant discovery that sheds light on human history. Organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Embassy in Rome, this event contributes to the preservation and promotion of international archaeological heritage.

A UNIQUE EXHIBITION EXPERIENCE

The exhibition presents the 11,000-year history of Göbeklitepe to visitors through multimedia content, 3D reconstructions, and virtual tours. Supported by replicas of the monumental pillars, the exhibition showcases the rituals and lifestyles of early human communities. Prepared by a team of Italian and international experts, the exhibition aims to raise awareness for the protection of world archaeological heritage.

EXHIBITION OPEN UNTIL THE END OF APRIL

The highly popular "Göbeklitepe: The Mystery of a Sacred Place" exhibition will be open to visitors at the Colosseum until April 30, 2025. This unique exhibition invites history enthusiasts and those wishing to explore archaeological heritage on a fascinating journey.
