Great interest in Raşit Altun’s 'SIR' exhibition
Young and prolific painter Raşit Altun’s new solo exhibition, ‘SIR’ (Secret), has met with art lovers at the Atatürk Cultural Center.
Successful painter Raşit Altun is back before art lovers with his new solo exhibition... The exhibition, which held its preview on May 13, will be open for visitors every day between 10.00 and 19.00.
Born in İzmir and a graduate of the Anadolu University Department of Visual Arts Education, Raşit Altun has previously held exhibitions in the USA, France, and Poland, won international awards for his works, and had his pieces included in various collections. Having explored existential themes in his previous series, Mahşer (Apocalypse) and Araf (Purgatory), Altun offers a deeper inner journey in his new exhibition themed “SIR” (Secret).

These new works, which Altun completed over the course of more than a year, present a narrative woven with inner intuition and philosophical touches. The “SIR” exhibition features 50 paintings and 4 sculptures. The presentation of the works goes beyond conventional exhibition formats: for the first time, visitors will have the opportunity to step inside the works through an “immersive projection mapping” application used in this exhibition.
The curatorial organization of the exhibition was undertaken by Arete Project, which has been working in the field of art for a long time. The venue design, exhibition project, and implementation processes were meticulously carried out by this team.

A CALL TO THE WEARY INDIVIDUAL
A large-format special catalog book featuring the artist’s works has been made available for sale throughout the exhibition. The texts in this 156-page volume were written by author Durmuş Akbulut. The book also includes Raşit Altun’s sketches and the intellectual background behind his works. Akbulut wrote the following regarding the painter Altun:
“This is a call to today’s weary individual, inviting them to turn toward their own truth and the reflection of the secret within. Because the secret is always there. Within oneself. In one’s own mirror. In the depth of one’s own gaze…”

Raşit Altun’s paintings appeal not only to the eye but also to the heart and mind. Instead of repeating himself in every series, the artist, who opens up new layers, invites his audience to an inner intuition and a profound visual experience this time.
The “SIR” exhibition, which has seen intense interest since the day it opened, can be visited at the Istanbul Atatürk Cultural Center until Saturday, May 31.
