Gülsin Onay Piano Festival begins in İzmir
The 2026 ADS International “Gülsin Onay” Piano Festival and Competition will be held in İzmir between April 16 and 19. The event will take place at the Nazım Hikmet Cultural Center.
The festival is organized under the leadership of pianist Gülsin Onay. As part of the program, in addition to Onay, Prof. Robert Andres from the Madeira Conservatory in Portugal and Prof. Talia Özlem Baltacılar from the Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory will participate in concerts and educational activities.
The four-day event will feature recitals, competitions, and masterclasses. Participants will be evaluated in different age categories and scored by a jury. The festival aims to provide young musicians with stage experience while offering educational opportunities.

The deadline for applications for the competition, which is open to pianists of all ages, has been announced as March 31, 2026. It is noted that applications may close earlier if capacity is reached.
As part of the program, participants will also receive feedback on technique and interpretation through one-on-one lessons provided by instructors. Certificates are planned to be awarded to participants at the end of the event.
Competitions will be held in the 6–9, 10–13, 14–17, and 18–22 age categories at the festival. It was reported that various prizes will be awarded to the winners.
The event held in İzmir is among the organizations that support young performers in the field of classical music.
