Bob Marley’s biographical film is preceded by an album released in his memory under the Island Records/Tuff Gong label.

The new EP features versions of 7 significant songs by the legendary reggae artist, reinterpreted by famous names such as Daniel Caesar, Kacey Musgraves, Wizkid, Leon Bridges, Jessie Reyez, Bloody Civilian, and Bob Marley’s grandson Skip Marley.

The Marley family was involved in the selection, decision, and approval processes for the EP.

In this context, the relationship between Island Records, Jamaica, and the Marley family, which also supports the film's subject matter, is highlighted. It is noted that 5 of the 7 songs reinterpreted on the EP—“Natural Mystic,” “Exodus,” “Waiting in Vain,” “Three Little Birds,” and “One Love”—are from the 1977 Bob Marley & the Wailers album, Exodus.
