IMM announces free museums for the 100th anniversary of the Republic
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has announced that its museums will be free for 100 days in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Republic.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality subsidiary Kültür AŞ has launched a "museum entry campaign" at the museums it operates, specifically for the 100th anniversary of the Republic. Free entry to many museums has been made possible, subject to entry times.
WHICH MUSEUMS ARE FREE?
According to the statement made by the IMM, domestic visitors will be able to visit the Basilica Cistern, Theodosius Cistern, Miniatürk, and Panorama 1453 History Museum for free until 11:00 AM for 100 days, starting today.
RADAR ISTANBUL CODE REQUIRED
To benefit from the campaign, which will be valid at the Basilica Cistern, protected by IMM Heritage; the 1600-year-old Theodosius Cistern, where history meets technology and art; the Panorama 1453 History Museum, which holds the title of the world's first fully panoramic museum; and Miniatürk, where miniatures of works from Turkey and the Ottoman geography are exhibited, visitors must show the code obtained via Radar Istanbul at the entrance.
In the statement, IMM Kültür AŞ General Manager Murat Abbas shared his thoughts, saying:
"With the excitement of experiencing and keeping alive the Republic founded by our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk exactly 100 years ago, we are launching a free visit campaign at our museums. With this special campaign, which will be valid at the museums we operate, we invite our guests from all over Turkey and Istanbul on a historical and cultural journey. By offering the opportunity to get to know Istanbul's rich heritage and history more closely, we want to share the enthusiasm of the Republic all together."
