Istanbul Modern featured in National Geographic's 'Best of the World' list
The new building of Istanbul Modern has earned a spot on National Geographic's 'Best of the World' list.
According to a statement from Istanbul Modern, the museum was selected as one of the top 20 cultural venues in a list compiled by National Geographic editors and was deemed "worth traveling for."
Istanbul Modern, which is among the 'top 20 cultural venues'—a list that also includes the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, the Molinere Underwater Sculpture Park in the Caribbean, the Genghis Khan Museum in Mongolia, and Battersea Power Station in London—was praised for its new museum building and observation terrace, as well as for the abstract paintings by Fahrelnissa Zeid, its chic restaurant, and the video works it exhibits.
The building was also included in Architectural Digest's 'Works of Wonder 2024' list on January 13.
