'ITALIANS AND TURKS RESEMBLE EACH OTHER'
Speaking to MAG, Marrapodi stated, "Italians and Turks resemble each other in many respects. This explains why Italians love to travel to Turkey. As far as I can see, many Turkish students have gone to Italy and feel at home there. It seems there is an increase in students going to Italian universities, especially in Milan," he said.
'PAVED THE WAY FOR INTENSE COOPERATION'
Discussing the projects Italy is carrying out to strengthen its relations with Turkey in terms of diplomatic ties, Ambassador Giorgio Marrapodi said, "There is a major project that is quite important for both sides; that is the organization of the 'third intergovernmental summit' between the two countries. A second important event took place last July.
Erdoğan and the then-Prime Minister of Italy met in Ankara and signed various agreements and joint documents. These documents paved the way for more intense cooperation between the two countries. Numerous meetings were also held between the two leaders and the foreign ministers," he stated.
