Master musician Cengiz Coşkuner admitted to intensive care

Cengiz Coşkuner, one of the most important guitarists, composers, and arrangers in Turkish music, suddenly fell ill while vacationing in the Datça district of Muğla. The 76-year-old artist, who experienced respiratory distress, was rushed to the hospital.

It was reported that after receiving initial treatment at Datça State Hospital, Coşkuner was transferred first to Marmaris and then to a private hospital in Bodrum as his health condition remained serious.

It was learned that Coşkuner has been admitted to intensive care and is being treated while intubated.

Cengiz Coşkuner, who performed the electric guitar with his own unique style, worked with numerous artists throughout his career, including Orhan Gencebay, Zeki Müren, Bülent Ersoy, Selami Şahin, Coşkun Sabah, and Neşe Karaböcek.

Coşkuner is also known as the composer of works such as “Duvardaki Resim,” “Gelin,” and “Unutulan,” performed by Cengiz Kurtoğlu. The master artist reached a wide audience with the instrumental albums he released starting in 1986.
