MESAM celebrates its 37th anniversary

Approximately 2,000 people from the worlds of art and business attended the gala held in Istanbul.

At the gala, hosted by Zafer Kiraz, the Kahramanmaraş earthquake and the massacre in Palestine were commemorated with a short film.

Stating that the gala would have had a different format if not for the February 6 earthquake and the Gaza massacre, MESAM President Recep Ergül expressed that MESAM members have created invaluable, immortal works and songs, each of which has earned a place in people's hearts.

'IT WILL BE IN SERVICE NEXT YEAR'

Promising that the new MESAM building will be in service next year, Ergül said, "You asked for change, you asked for reform, and you entrusted us with this duty. The fact that 2,000 people will attend the general assembly for the first time in MESAM's history is the most important event in the history of MESAM."

AWARDS FOUND THEIR RECIPIENTS

At the gala, the Republic's 100th Anniversary Special Award was received by Deputy General Director of Copyrights Serhat Dalgıç on behalf of the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

The Republic's 100th Anniversary Special Atatürk Award was presented to the famous artist Sabahat Akkiraz.

At the gala, a success award was given to TV series and film music producer Toygar Işıklı, the Erkin Koray Honorary Award to İskender Doğan, the İlham Gencer Honorary Award to İlhan Şeşen, and the Celal Güzelses Honorary Award to İzzet Altınmeşe.

The Best Breakthrough Artist award was given to Norm Ender, while the 35th Anniversary Special Award was presented to names such as Hakkı Bulut, Mithat Körler, and Zekai Tunca.
