Museums open during the holiday have been determined: Basilica Cistern is among those open

Museums and palaces in Istanbul will continue to welcome visitors throughout the Ramadan Feast. 

A statement on the subject came from Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. 

In a statement on his social media account, Minister Ersoy announced that museums and archaeological sites will be open during the holiday break. He noted that more than 300 museums and archaeological sites affiliated with the Ministry, as well as museums under the Presidential National Palaces Administration, will host visitors throughout the Ramadan Feast. 

Ersoy also provided information about Turkey's most visited museums and archaeological sites during this period:

"1 Konya Mevlana Museum, 2 Denizli Hierapolis (Pamukkale) Archaeological Site, 3 İzmir Ephesus Archaeological Site, 4 Nevşehir Göreme Archaeological Site, 5 Nevşehir Zelve-Paşabağları Archaeological Site, 6 Ankara Republic Museum, 7 Istanbul Archaeology Museums, 8 Istanbul Galata Tower, 9 Şanlıurfa Göbeklitepe Archaeological Site, 10 Nevşehir Kaymaklı Underground City."

WHICH MUSEUMS ARE OPEN?

Topkapı Palace, Dolmabahçe Palace, Beylerbeyi Palace, the Painting Museum, and the Museum of Islamic Civilizations will be open to visitors on the 2nd and 3rd days of the holiday. 

The Basilica Cistern, Theodosius Cistern, and Miniatürk, affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), will be open to visitors on the 1st day of the Ramadan Feast between 13:00 and 19:00, and between 09:00 and 19:00 on the 2nd and 3rd days of the holiday.

The Panorama 1453 History Museum will be open to visitors on the 1st day of the Ramadan Feast between 13:00 and 18:30, and between 08:00 and 18:30 on the 2nd and 3rd days of the holiday.
