Neşe Aksoy has passed away

Neşe Aksoy, who was among the shining stars of Yeşilçam in the 1980s, has died at the age of 62. The veteran actress passed away due to the cancer she had been battling for some time.

Aksoy, one of the important actresses of post-1980 Turkish cinema, was etched in memories especially with the 1982 film 'Arkadaşım', in which she starred alongside Tarık Akan and Fikret Hakan. The artist, who took part in many projects throughout her acting career, had become one of the beloved faces on screen.

SHE HAD SAID, "I AM NOW IN THE UNKNOWN"

In an emotional post she shared last month, Neşe Aksoy had announced that she was battling lung cancer. The famous actress had used the following expressions in her statement:

"Ten months ago, when I was diagnosed with lung cancer, I entered a difficult process and had to take a break from my writing. I said, 'I will write when I recover a little,' but in my latest check-ups, new masses were seen in my lung, where I had surgery, and in my brain. I don't know what will happen from now on. I didn't want this to be heard until today, but I am now in the unknown. That is why I wanted you to hear it from me."

In addition to her success in cinema, Neşe Aksoy was also interested in music and painting, and was known for her multifaceted identity in the art world. Aksoy had also served as vice president of FİLM-SAN, where she was an honorary member.
