Following his first exhibition "Game" in 2019, which left a lasting impression with its large-scale, site-specific installations, Erdil Yaşaroğlu has spent the last four years moving away from building playgrounds to revealing the game in his mind through his sculptures.

Pointing to an insightful world behind the artist's familiar, colorful, and bright surfaces—a world where light fades and darkness prevails as one delves deeper, yet remains mysterious and radiant like the incredible creatures on the ocean floor—Transatlantic heralds a magnificent journey while also carrying the anxieties of our current times, the wars threatening humanity, and the environmental destruction we choose to ignore.

Erdil Yaşaroğlu described his new exhibition with these words:

"People's first approach to the sculptures I make is usually through their colorful and cute side. But on the other hand, these are little traps I set to draw them into the stories of my sculptures. We live in a very gray, unpleasant, and difficult world. I like to tell our troubles with joy. The Transatlantic piece, which also gives the exhibition its name, is a beautiful example of this.

You encounter a small transatlantic sculpture, and this cute little yellow thing tells you how humanity is ruining the world"
