Number of visitors to Ankara Palas Museum revealed

The Presidential Directorate of National Palaces announced that the Ankara Palas Museum has hosted 49 thousand 760 people since its opening.

According to the statement from the Directorate, the Ankara Palas, which was converted into a museum while preserving its original structure and opened to visitors on February 21 with the participation of Emine Erdoğan, wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has been visited by 49 thousand 760 people since the day it opened.

The central location of the Ankara Palas, one of the iconic structures of the Republican era, has been effective in attracting thousands of visitors.

Located across from the Second Parliament building in Ulus, Ankara, the museum has become a frequent destination for visitors interested in history.

OPEN EVERY DAY EXCEPT MONDAY

The fact that the museum has been free to visit since its opening has also increased the number of visitors. Considering the flow of visitors to the museum, which is open every day except Monday, it has been observed that the numbers are even higher on weekends.

The Ankara Palas Museum hosts select works from the 16th to 19th centuries from the National Palaces collections, as well as items used by Atatürk and pieces bearing the traces of the early Republican period.

Works from the Republican and Ottoman eras are exhibited together in the museum. Paintings by İbrahim Çallı and Feyhaman Duran, artists of the 1914 Generation who hold an important place in Turkish portrait painting of the Republican era, are among the works that enrich the museum's collection. The clocks adorning the walls of the Ankara Palas are also of a quality that will take visitors on a journey through time.

ITEMS USED BY ATATÜRK ARE ALSO ON DISPLAY

European-made silver sets used in the Ottoman palace and at the Ankara Palas are among the museum's notable works.

A selection compiled from the Caliph Abdülmecid Efendi Library, including manuscripts and printed works, as well as items used by Atatürk and much more, are also featured in the museum.

Representing the modern face of the newly established Republic, the Ankara Palas Museum hosts nearly 1200 works exhibited in an indoor area of 1000 square meters.

With a decision taken specifically for the opening, the museum can be visited every day except Monday between 09:00 and 17:00 until April 15, when the Ramadan Feast holiday ends.
