Price finalized: Hagia Sophia becomes paid for tourists

The practice of separating the entrances for those coming to Hagia Sophia for worship and foreigners visiting for cultural purposes will begin on January 15.

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, a new arrangement for visitors will be implemented at the mosque as part of the restoration and conservation work initiated by Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Ersoy at Hagia Sophia.

In this context, the ticket office, where tickets will be sold for those visiting the gallery floor and which will be put into service on January 15, has been positioned opposite the Fountain of Ahmed III.

With the new practice starting on January 15 at Hagia Sophia, tourists will be able to carry out their visits.

With the system implemented via a QR code application at Hagia Sophia, visitors will be able to receive information in 23 languages using their mobile phone headsets or single-use headsets provided, without disturbing those who are worshipping.

The entrance fee to be charged to foreigners coming to Hagia Sophia for tourism purposes will be 25 Euros.
