The Romeo and Juliet story is being staged again from a different perspective under the title Verona Çıkmazı (Verona Dead End).

The play Verona Çıkmazı, written and directed by Esra Bağışgil, will meet its audience for the first time on Monday, February 26.

Produced by Nos Tiyatro and featuring a cast including Ozan Varol, Esra Bağışgil, Âdem Yılmaz, Tuğçe Özlü Şentürk, and Melih Tuma, Verona Çıkmazı will entertain theater lovers this time with an unconventional Romeo and Juliet story.

A 90S BREEZE WITH ROMEO AND JULIET

The actors, who began rehearsals in November, will also perform 90s Turkish pop songs. The costumes for the play, which promises a colorful world to the audience, were designed by İpek Daner, the sister of famous actress Miray Daner.

THE PLOT OF ROMEO AND JULIET

Verona Çıkmazı is a 'Romeo and Juliet' adaptation. A Narrator, dedicated to telling this love story that everyone knows, wants only to tell this classic tale. Rosaline, whom we know from the original text as Romeo's first love who does not reciprocate his feelings, deviates from the story and falls in love with Romeo.

So, what if this conflict between the Narrator and Rosaline hinders Romeo and Juliet's journey to true love? Or what if this conflict actually paves the way for Romeo and Juliet's true love?

On one side, a Narrator trying to complete the story with various tricks and disguises; on another, Rosaline, who does not want to lose her love; and on the other, Romeo and Juliet, who just want to live their love... And Paris, the walking aura, unaware of all this! With these characters, it is impossible for this story to reach its true ending without hitting a dead end.
