Sam Neill's cause of death revealed
The cause of death for 78-year-old Sam Neill, known for Jurassic Park, has been announced as pneumonia by his representative, Philip Grenz.
The cause of death for actor Sam Neill, known worldwide for the Jurassic Park film, has been revealed. It was reported that the 78-year-old actor, whose passing was announced last week, died due to pneumonia.
Neill's representative, Philip Grenz, stated that there were "inaccuracies and outright lies" in some media reports, and that he was sharing the cause of death with the approval of the family.
In his statement, Grenz said, "Sam passed away from pneumonia. Before he became ill, Sam bravely fought and beat lymphoma through a new treatment path called CAR-T therapy."
Neill was diagnosed with stage three angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma in 2022. The actor participated in a clinical trial for CAR-T cell therapy, which is used in the treatment of certain types of blood cancer, and had recently announced that he had beaten the cancer.
His representative noted that Neill continued his work despite his illness, stating that the actor had been involved in four consecutive projects last year and that these productions would meet audiences in the coming months. It was also noted that Neill was involved with his award-winning winery, Two Paddocks, in New Zealand.
Grenz described Sam Neill as "an intensely private man who hated noise." Drawing attention to the family's request for privacy, the representative stated that the funeral would be held at his farm in New Zealand with a private memorial service, the date of which was not disclosed.
