The sarcophagus was found during electrical infrastructure work carried out by teams in the garden of a house belonging to Fevzi M. in the Yeşilpınar neighborhood.
The homeowner reported the situation to the gendarmerie.
With the coordination of the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, the sarcophagus was removed from the site in a controlled manner during work conducted in the garden.
The sarcophagus, which features mythological figures on it, was taken to the Hatay Museum Directorate.
