The first trailer for Twisters, the sequel to the 1996 box-office hit Twister, has been released.
Twisters, the sequel to the 1996 film Twister, which took audiences on an adrenaline-filled journey with one of nature's most magnificent and destructive forces, is returning.
Twister, which was one of the highest-grossing films of 1996 with a box office revenue of 495.7 million dollars and is remembered for its impressive sound design and visual effects, will return to the big screen with its sequel.
CAST ANNOUNCED
Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar-nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell, known for his role in Top Gun: Maverick.
The duo, who play opposing forces coming together to try to predict and potentially tame the immense power of tornadoes, are joined by an exciting new cast including Anthony Ramos, David Corenswet, Brandon Perea, Sasha Lane, Daryl McCormack, Kiernan Shipka, Nik Dodani, and Maura Tierney.
TWISTERS PLOT
Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years, now studies storm patterns safely on screens in New York, but is lured back to the open plains by her friend Javi to test a groundbreaking new tracking system.
There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), a charming and reckless social media superstar who enjoys posting his storm-chasing adventures with his rowdy crew.
As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler, and their rival teams find themselves in the middle of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma, fighting for their lives.
Twisters is produced by Oscar nominee Frank Marshall (the Jurassic and Indiana Jones series) and Patrick Crowley (the Jurassic and Bourne series). The screenplay is by Mark L. Smith, writer of the Best Picture nominee The Revenant.
Distributed in our country by TME Films, "Twisters" will be in theaters on July 19.
